Games Get Moved

rain, lightning, plus lots of flooding in rural Missouri. First week, several contests had to be postponed after starting on Friday night and started back up on Saturday. That's not ideal...

Not rain that is the problem. Calling for lightning. Now that's a problem

I agree. I think it's quite ridiculous that lightning can be 30-40 miles away, but if they can see it in the sky, it's an automatic 30-minute delay and if it happens again in those next 30 minutes, its another 30-minute delay from that occurrence on.

I remember one particular deadly strike in Forney, Texas. I happened to be 10 miles away from Forney at that moment. It was sunny in Forney but a small, strong cell was moving East across North Dallas into Garland - 21 miles from Forney. A freak single bolt streaked out and hit the practice area in Forney striking the team and injuring a few but leaving one player unconscious. He passed away 4 days later. See the story here: http://clayjoneslegacy.org/claysstory.htm

Freak lightning strikes are a reality. It's best to stop a game in the name of safety than to risk injury or death. I can't see how anyone would debate that policy.

The game is AWESOME, we are not in 1995. I do NOT like some of the changes BUT the kids playing should be a lot healthier 20 years from now, who wants to argue that that is not an intelligent decision.
