Fun fact: Class 3 public school champions

And for the record, it's not a sole 'excuse', it's an example, for a theory(lack of investment), that is an answer, to a question, that YOU asked. I should have reminded myself that we're not actually entertaining any ideas here, we're just buying time until it's an personal argument or a doc guy gif contest(which J.Kane is providing quality content on that front)
well i guess everyone just needs to hire more coaches.

problem solved.

Nice work padre.

While that's a nice anecdote, but I can raise you one to the point of the question raised on the thread. In this area, There isn't a lot of investment in coaching staffs.. more people bring more knowledge & raise the floor of the play. Park Hills Central has 12 coaches listed on MSHSAA (an exception, and a successful one), Potosi, a bigger district, 20 miles up the road has 5. Park Hills has beaten them 14 out of the last 15 tries and not a single game they won has been within 7 points. Who do you want your kid coached by
By the 2 or 3 really good coaches on the central staff. Central has also been dominant in basketball. Do they have more coaches, also?

This rebuttal to getting more/better coaches is sounding close to implying the answer is to get better players. Which I believe is grounds for a, Nice Work Padre.

Every time I have bragged on the central coaching staff and their teams for the last 5 years, Rufus Jones and company have said they aren’t great because they didn’t beat the loaded private schools. Now they won it all with those same coaches. Did they suddenly get smarter or better? No. They were always good.

There have been really good teams with really good coaches on the East side that just came a little short over the years. Farmington, North County, Hillsboro, Jackson, Festus, Ste Gen, Park Hills, Cape Central, Kennett, etc Lack of a state championship doesn’t diminish their good work.

They won it this year because they were good enough to win it. Has nothing to do with previous years, when they were not (but public school teams from elsewhere were).
