I have to believe st. james and Sullivan will be favored. Pacific is long and experienced and could come together w a new coach and system. Could see some upsets as it is hard to win on the road in the FRC. But i will take St.James, Sullivan and Pacific as top 3. My sleeper pick is Union. THey could disrupt the top 3 and have some kids that play super hard. In a year of Covid it may be a bumpy ride for hoops season. Good luck to all. I hope to see many of my FRC friends as I take a new view of the games this year!

Thumb, thanks for the update on Four Rivers Conference boys basketball. Can you give us an update on John VanLeer the former Pacific basketball coach?

Can we make a case for Owensville's basketball program for 2021? I believe they had an improved team last season with a few returning players with experience. Let's give new Owensville basketball coach Cullen VanLeer a top four rating in the FRC preseason.

I may be driving down in Southeast Missouri to see a few games this year as we have a fan restriction here in St. Louis.

Basketball may become a TV sport for College and Pro basketball because of the rise in Covid-19.

The Dutchmen will be competitive for sure. They have a new system and a new way of doing things but John i am sure will love working w Cullen and being retired as well. Hope hoops can play with Covid - a vaccine this winter would be encouraging. I don't like this new way of life.

St. James is really struggling out of the gate. 3-4 record, barely got by New Haven and got beat bad by Iberia.

Saint James has been hit hard with quarantine issues and they graduated a lot. Coach Smith will get them going eventually.

Pacific, after a slow start, is coming alive. Overtime win at home vs Rolla and then went on the road and controlled Union the whole game winning by 11. Sophomore Quin Blackburn gaining some strength and is a handful at 6'8 on the offensive end.
