Former Lamar Coach Scott Baily Hired As New Jefferson City Head Coach

I doubt it. It is hard to believe that he has to ask to practice on the field. I like how the article said how well Lepaige has done at Blair Oaks.

If he wanted to keep coaching why did he leave Lamar? Is there not as much talent in the pipeline?

So Capital City and JC will both be running a variation of the double wing? 10 guys bunched up between the hashes and 1 SE out wide as a decoy. It'll be like the 1960s all over again.

Very happy for Scott, if the players get on board he could do great things there. Have to agree the timing is interesting. Also the items that were said to cause Walker to resign I would think would all be non starters for Coach Bailey. I would think we would want full access and control of players and facilities.

The community is ready to win. Lots has changed since 1997. Administration namely. Parents and players will be a challenge. But they always are. Conference will be a challenge for sure. RB and Helias will give both JC schools plenty year in and out. Gotta give him a little while to install his offensive system. Won’t happen overnight. Will be interesting.

Not a done deal yet, schoolboard rejected his resignation, but looks like it will be finalized June 15th during board meeting barring any progess in negotiations and demands from Coach Walker

Once the two JC high schools fully split by 2021-22 school year, the Jays will probably drop to Class 5 with both JCHS & CCHS having between 1200-1300 students so that could be a little more interesting especially if Webb City moves up to Class 5 in the next enrollment cycle or two

Scott will run the system that his players can execute the best to give them the best chance to win. We ran double wing in Lamar- true- but if you noticed he was GREAT at coming up with packages with variations of different systems for players to allow them to do what they did best.

Yea imagine coming out in that eye sore offense vs DeSmet and Rockhurst. Gonna be a lot of Game Clock fast forwarding in the Jays future. Congrats to coach!!

No one on here needs to defend Coach Bailey, but by any metric you wanna measure he's one of, if not the greatest Missouri hs football coach of all time. 7 titles in a row, probably around half a dozen kids sent off to D1 programs out of a public C2 if not more, I'm very excited to see what that program could become in the next 5 years.

Doesn't really matter what offense you run as long as you run it well. Funny, those that think you have to pass 95% of the time don't have a lot to say if you are watching teams win. As long as the kids run five plays and execute them to perfection you can win. A large, fancy playbook has never won games. Also, a split end/wide receiver doesn't just need to catch footballs. They first need to block. If they won't play because you don't pass enough so be it. Find a smaller, quick guard for that position. Spread teams can have a lot of trouble defending a team that runs the ball to perfection. Helias has had fits with Monroe City and Lebanon the past couple of years.

Eyesore offense? Didn’t they average like 60 a game one year? Also, pretty sure webb tore rockhurst apart with an offense you’d probably call an eyesore.

they could average 70 and it will still be painful to watch. Webb runs a Wing T which isnt the same as the ugly double spin thing a majiggy.

and yes we all know Webb beat Rock like 10 years ago. Doesnt mean that nonsense will work in Class 6. That was a special Webb team.

Who said the five plays had to be any type of spinning thing a majiggy? Also, didn't say you only have five plays. Just said you better run five to perfection. Class 1-6 if you can't do that you are gonna fail. Some of you on here seem to have the guy doomed before he's warmed up his whistle. You may be right but give him a chance.

Im not saying he’s doomed at all. Culture change alone will turn the program around. I just dont wanna see the Lamar offense again lol not fun to watch.

Maybe the Lamar spinning thinga majiggy is culture change. In Jeff City and class 6. Doubt that offense will be timed up by early September anyway. Maybe 2021 it will play more of a role. Again, we shall see. As for me, I will wait to see the "change" whatever it will be.
