Coaches,
We have been experiencing interference with our current "Head Sets" from Port-A-Phone. How many of you have experienced interference? We seem to experience more interference at home than away. What other brands of head phones do some of you have AND how well do they work for you? Thanks.

In Semi game few year back we used your own phones. half of ours went down, So I blame the loss on them. OOH wait, the other team was pretty good too. Coachcomm is OK. Nothing better then the old wire roll, take it all the up to the press box. Unless the windows do not open. or at TCU and your wire does not reach. Coaches and their superstitions.

I've yet to use a wireless headset, from any of the major manufacturers, newest model or refurbished, home or away that worked flawlessly. Tonka uses a pretty good set they purchased 2 years ago. Contact the DC at Tonka, he's the guru of headsets and technology. jstamps@nkcschools.org, I texted him and let him know you might be emailing him.
peace out

Or full-fledged CB radios. We used to just have a coach stand up in the bed of a pickup, with the CB cord running through the gun rack, and out the back sliding window. Then you'll need a base radio for the sideline. Works pretty good, unless you're near a truck stop. Then it's just a pain.
Also- you're gonna want to practice calling each other by your CB handles during the week, to prevent confusion on Friday night. Might as well just go by your CB handle all the time, anyway. No reason not to.

CB Handle names. Love it brings back some great memories growing up. I lived by a Major highway through KS. Had a CB would lesson for hours. "Smokey and the Bandit" still one of the best.

At the school I was previously at, we used push-to-talk wireless headsets from Louis Systems. They worked great when the other coaches would push the buttons.
