You can go back and rewatch the game and Compton threw in the ball that very next play after being “hurt”. She threw a rocket to the opposite side of where she was throwing in the ball. I don’t think her shoulder had anything to do with the outcome. More like the 17 rebounds that Schaaf had against them had to do with the outcome.

I might add, in the last 2 years Strafford has played El Do 3 times and has lost to them every time. 2 of those times with all of their starters.
Your quotations imply you dont think Compton was hurt- You obviously dont know the grit that kid has. Did you see her shoulder pop back in? You could see it from the stands. That injury would obviously impact elements of anybody’s game

True, they beat them 3 times. Once by 2 with two Strafford starters out and one Eldo starter out. The injury was legit no matter what you wanna believe. Beat them by 2 at state. Reese was a killer as always. Doesn’t change the fact it could have gone differently. That’s all. Triggered now??????? I might add…..several of those “rebounds” could have easily been called a push. I think a lot of it has to with getting used to being on top, and when it starts to drop off just a little bit, people can get bitter on both sides.
The Frank girl was a once in a generation talent, similar to what Judd was for WP, and when you don’t have that kind of dominant player on your roster anymore, it’s going to be almost impossible to sustain that level of success.
Not to say that Strafford didn’t maintain the success for a few years, because they obviously did, but everything goes in cycles, what goes up, must come down, even if only for a little while.
Strafford has plenty coming up the pipeline from middle school, including Larsen's daughters, plus some good returning players.
They are going to be good for a while. Especially with other teams in that class and district losing so much to graduation.

I was mainly referencing that they went from averaging 30+ wins a year and winning the title every year to 23-24 wins a year on average, which if that’s a down year, you’re doing alright lol
I mean no non-Incarnate Word team can average 30 wins per season for very long and that was only during the 4 years that the Frank sisters and others were there, and one more year after that when they had 5 of their top players coming back. It's some awfully lofty standards that maybe .001% of any team in the state can accomplish over that kind of time span.
What would have made a difference if Mays was not guarding Compton she may have scored, she didn’t score before she got hurt or after she got hurt.
