People will blame fracking (and they may be right for all I know)
I was hoping this process would make our nation independent of buying oil from the ME....that would break my heart.

the process that seems to be responsible for small earthquakes is used in all oil extraction processes not just fracking. All oil fields force waste saltwater back into wells under pressure to get rid of it. Its just the entire oil industry has exploded in the last few years so seeing more of it.
