Doniphan cancels season

Glad we waited so long to build out districts so they'd know what teams would be playing in the postseason.
School needs to add wrestling. Would help their program a lot if the kids who don't play basketball have a full contact sport to participate in during the offseason.
Why do school districts continue to give that guy a chance? Look at his history.
Football coaches and school superintendents are like cats. No matter how far they fall, they always land on their feet somewhere, somehow.
First of all, you don’t even know me or what i have done in my career. You can say what you want and hide behind a fake name not allowing anyone to know who you are or what you even do. Sure, go ahead and look at what I’ve done in my career as a head coach. You will see turning programs around, winning and changing lives in the process. Have I moved a lot and changed jobs, yes I have but does that make a bad person or bad coach? Also, look at the schools and what they were before I got there, while i was there and what they have done since I left and that will tell you all you need to know. I wasn’t going to say anything but it’s the same people who talk bad and tear people down that always have something to say but never say a positive thing on this platform. If you coach, what do you do and where are you doing it? What successes have you had to give you the right to talk about someone when you don’t have the Gutz to reveal yourself so we can talk about you. This is why people are getting out of teaching and coaching because of people like you who make this job even more difficult than it already is. Coaches do a lot more than most of you would ever do, they spend tons of hours, they spend their own money, they give up time with their own families to pour into student athletes to help them reach their potential on and off the field, in and out of the classroom so that when their time in school is over they can be better men and ready for the next chapters in their lives. I hope you have a better purpose for your life, more than talking smack on people who you know nothing about because if not you have a pretty sorry life which is why you troll on forums like this to give your own life some type of meaning. I don’t know if we ever met and if we did I pray I never gave you this impression you spew on here and if I did I apologize cause that’s not my nature. All I want to do is coach football, give programs life that may not have had if for a while or ever while helping young men move on to the next level of the sport or life. If that makes me a bad coach well I’m guilty as charged. I have been blessed to win in almost every school i have been a head coach at winning 2 district championships in 3 years at 2 different schools. I love what I do, i love helping other coaches get better and I have a passion to help in any way I can coaching 3 sports for the majority of my career. I didn’t have to defend myself on here but I felt it necessary this time because of the negativity brought to my attention.

Always going to be the critics. I do not know you or know what you've done in your career. But, I respect what you said in your message. You are spot on with your words. And you have the stones to not hide who you are.
I never get on here for this reason but with all the calls i have gotten about my situation here and seeing what people say who never have met me i felt obligated to tell my story. No need for me to hide cause I know what i have done and the time I have put in to have the successes i have had. It’s those who do hide on here and say what they want to say that make them look childish. You can say anything behind a keyboard or phone screen when you use a made up name, I chose to be a man and tell my side.
Don't worry about them....there are plenty of those "Close your Yearbook" type people.
I have two players playing in tonight’s game in Tershawn Wharton and Ronnie Perkins who played for me at University City and we won the schools first district championship in 35 years. Maybe that’s why people hire me, i produce!!!

I'm going to ask a question I posed on another thread regarding Doniphan again. What happened to Jason Lance. He was named head coach for the program last year then all of a sudden Coach Jameson Allen was named head coach. I never saw anything in the DAR or on Semoball on his departure from the position. What happened there? He left his long time position as a junior high coach at Poplar Bluff when Doniphan brought the program back. Did he go back to being an assistant? If so he probably would have made more sense as head than Cheney.
Also being from Poplar Bluff and knowing many people from Doniphan through jobs and people from there coming here to shop and be entertained I definitely take Coach Allen's reason at face value. Place was once a sundown town and probably still has Klan there. For crying put loud the old radio station's call letters KDFN was rumored for a long time to be an acronym for Keep Doniphan Free of well you know. I just wonder what happened to need to bring in a new coach in the first place when a new head was just named last season who had been with the program for awhile.

What is producing? Your record at LS and UC was 25-27 overall from what MSHSAA says. You will have great athletes in St Louis. Not knocking you, but was wondering what producing was in your opinion.

That’s a great question and I respect that. Look at where they were before my staff got there, what happened when we were there, and what’s happened since. The quick turnaround and the way those teams played was what is more important and we won district championships in 2 years. Yes great athletes are in St. Louis and I was blessed, but those athletes where there before my staff got there and we worked our butts off to help them learn how to work and win as a team eliminating the bad habits that may have been the reason they had trouble turning the corner. Culture changing is the key, not saying I’m a guru and trust me I am not a person who gloats, but it is what it is and I was blessed to have great coaches around me to help me make the transitions smooth. That’s the key, surround yourself with great minds, great men who love kids and what they do and anything can happen. It was not all me in any of my head coaching stops, Even at Windsor when I got my first head coaching job, we taught kids how to love eachother, play hard for eachother and want better for themselves and their future. I don’t want to get on here and argue with grown men who should know better than to bash other people for simply doing something they are passionate about. Win, lose or draw all these coaches want to do is help young men reach their potential and teach them how to become better men and create a work ethic to help them no matter what they do after graduation. So to degrade, belittle, or bash men on here who do what they have been called to do, seems a little harsh when you don’t know peoples whole story. This should be a place where you talk about football, celebrate coaches accomplishments, talk about the great games that go on around the state or even just football related news with the correct information and not speculation.
