Things trickle down from the nfl so I fully expect this to get worse. Another game stopped in the middle of the action because of a serious injury. People get hurt playing football. If your buddy getting hurt makes you want to quit, maybe you shouldn’t be playing to begin with.

It’s an odd dynamic for sure. Empathy seems to be the big buzz word. Funny thing is, anytime you ask these guys and they’ll tell you to play on. Hoping the two this preseason are just byproducts of it being preseason.

Think we have found something we agree with. Ever year it’s seems like people (and it get worse the younger they get) become less likely to be able to deal with adversity or conflict.

Always fun to point fingers at the next generation who were raised by the prior generation who were raised by the prior generation and so on and so on. The biggest snowflakes and fragile humans i see are actual adults in there 30s and 40s and older crying about anything and everything that politically and socially doesn't go there way.

"That's what's wrong with yer all's generation." Forever the lament of the bitter and irrelevant.

Then explain the increasing mental issues?
Don’t get me wrong it’s the other generations fault. They’d rather be their child’s best friend and the core family means nothing anymore. Look at the success rates of children of fatherless homes.

Then explain the increasing mental issues?
That's pretty easy. There are more people than before and there are more diagnosed. My guess is, mental illness hasn't increased nearly as much as the diagnosis of mental increase, while the population continually increases as well.

My take, which isn't worth much. The "adults" have continually lessened the expectation, which is extremely unfortunate. The kids I come in contact now literally can't deviate. A curve in the straight line completely wrecks most of them. They can't adapt to squat and expect to be bailed out and/or not held accountable. Who is to blame? Me, you, and the other adults (I get not directly EVERY adult, but it's an epidemic) that are responsible for their accountability...Man, I'm telling you. You could spend 5-10 mins at a sporting event now and figure out what most parents are interested in. It sure as hell isn't the development of their child. Senior banners, mom football club t-shirts, glitter this and sparkle that. It's nothing but one big "look at me" club. Now, get off my lawn you young whipper snappers.

You had me at mom football club t-shirts

Look at me club is a good way of putting it.
Dude...I'm telling you...It wears me out. By the end of football season, I'm going to have somewhere in the neighborhood of $300-500 (not including shoes and actual gear I expect to purchase) invested in a kid to play football...at an effing public school. Matching practice gear, senior banner, moms club tshirt, pregame meals, halftime this, postgame that...blah, blah, blah...and it's nothing more than people not having anything better to do and trying to insert themselves somewhere they don't belong. My wife got approached about the stupid tshirt at a team function (that I wasn't at). She had already told me she didn't want one, we have plenty of TEAM gear. Whatever, I think they're ridiculous, but if she wanted one I don't really care. But she had no desire. Lady asks if she's going to order one. Wife says she hadn't planned to, but asks if others did. Gets told she's the only one that didn't, and of course she caved. Not in her nature to buck the trend like it is mine. She's a sweetheart. But again, look at me, I'm something different than just a member of this one big team.

WOW! Your school's booster club needs assistance ASAP!! Parents should NOT be forking over that much cash for meals, team gear, etc. Some is expected but NOTHING like what you're describing. I'd love to offer help but fortunately, I'm retired.

Side note. Good on that lady for strong arming your wife. It's amazing what a little alleged pressure can do to get someone to spend a little more.

When I ran the local youth program we handed out Jerseys and then had them turned in at the end of the year. I had a mom approach me all upset because little John was not getting to keep his jersey and to top it off it didn't have his name on the back. I told them in High school and junior high you don't get to keep your jersey and there is no name on the back you play for the name on the front. The lady yelled at me and explained that many of these kids were never going to play in high school so this would be the best times of their lives in football. I looked at her and said well then I guess he shouldn't be playing football at all with that attitude of yours.

Many parents are all about what can you give me and my child now...Youth is just a stepping stone for Junior high and Junior high is a stepping stone for high school. Youth should never be the best times of your life, but many parents have that attitude because they are afraid little John won't want to put in the effort in high school....and that is on the parents.

That's pretty solid. Look at me and what can you do for me. I swear, the reason most parents get involved in the booster (sorry Bozo, er Bosko) is just to increase their closeness to the decision-makers. Basically see it as an opportunity to create an edge. I despise it all.

Okay you BOZO!!! Now I cant speak for every parent, but do you know why I got involved with the booster club, then served as president for over 20 years!? To make a positive change in the COMMUNITY!!! Help out young athletes. I wasn't creating ANY sort of edge! There were GOOD reasons I kept getting re-elected as booster club president! NICE TRY NINCOMPOOP!!

Now did I ALLEGEDLY make a decent profit off the booster club? No. Absolutely not.

I just know how you ran things in the DOC, I am sure there was no intimidation or shenanigans going on during the election..... no little chats....
As I have said numerous times on here before. ANY allegations of voter fraud and intimidation are meritless! Now all remaining questions on that subject can be directed towards MY lawyer!
I'd vote for you Bosko.
Here, here!! Finally, a MoSports poster that knows whats-what!!

What about the hot moms?

What about the hot moms?
Now I wont lie. There have been plenty of hot moms come through the Ampipe Booster Club. Probably because the club covers ALL Ampipe sports. Provides a good pool of parents. However, I have ALWAYS stayed faithful to my wife. But, just because you're on a diet doesnt mean you cant look at the menu!!!
