Did Anyone Not See This Coming?

Growing up in a split family meaning one side was Baptist and the other was Lutheran I always wondered why the baptist church had not one single picture of Jesus nothing it always amazed me. But the Lutheran's there were ton's of pictures. I learned later why that was.... I agree I don't see why they want to remove it, sometimes I think these people sit around dreaming up ways to stir the right, it is like they have to see how far they can push somebody before they explode. They are always looking for ways to upset people...well more or less conservatives.

Our first Baptist Church had a picture of Jesus in every class room and a Huge Stain Glassed picture of him over the Baptismal.

I doubt they can tear down any Jesus statues legally....do any still exist on Public property?

Clearly any church, private home, organization etc. can Erect a statue of Jesus legally if they want.

Does Mr. King not realize that being a racist isn't illegal! You can hate and wish ill will on anyone for any reason. Of course racist must abide by the law of the land, and not harm, intimidate or harass people. But they are free to voice their vile agenda in anyway the want. Thank God we have a Constitution...for now.

They're Marxists. They don't care about 1st amendment protections.

No you didn't....there are no pictures of Jesus from the time he walked on earth, what hung on the walls or the huge stain glass was an image created by man of what they believed Jesus looked like during his time on earth. As I have gotten older I see more and more progressive baptist churches now display images of Jesus and there is nothing wrong with that. As the Baptist belief teaches that not all images result in idolatry today. This is what I have been told.. if it is a matter of conviction, should we not act in accordance with Paul’s instructions in Romans 14 and 15? If so, we should not seek to impose our views on others, or debate in a way that divides us.

If BLM really cares about black lives, why are they donating their contributions to certain political campaigns and not putting that money back into the black community?

Throwing that money into campaigns implies black people are a monolith who ONLY vote Democrat.
