Cullen VanLeer is taking over a basketball program that has one winning season in the last ten years. The Dutchmen's last winning season was 2011--record 14-11. Cullen is a former basketball player @ Missouri. VanLeer has played under college coaches Kim Anderson and Cuonzo Martin and his father John VanLeer @ Pacific high school. Cullen was a four year starter in high school and one of the best basketball players to ever play in Franklin County.
it appears to me the Owensville AD has hit a home run with this hire. After carefully checking the Owensville roster for next season. The Durchmen have 7 returning players who saw varsity action this past year. Austin Terry and Terry Heidbrink will be 6'5" seniors and had a 7.0 per game as juniors. It appears the Dutchmen have two guards Brendan Decker 6'0" and Derek Brandt 6'1" scoring 8.0 and 5 points per game. Three other players Bogle, Blankenship and Epstein appears to be players who will see major playing time next season.
It appears to me, Cullen VanLeer had a scouting report before excepting this position. Any idea who might have helped Cullen with this report?
It would not surprise me if the Owensville Dutchmen moves up in the top four in the Four Rivers Conference next season, maybe higher.
