Covid Participation Question:

Ok. I know this isn't about football but I have a question. I heard about a Coach in volleyball who's team is headed to state, who just came down with Covid. The team is still able to go to state. Just wonder how that can be. If a player comes down with covid the season is over for the team. Trying to understand the difference.

I think the standard answer is if one has 15 min of cumulative close exposure in a 24 hr period, then they are to quarantine. Obv there are inconsistencies in things, who tells the truth, who gets tested, etc., but I believe that is pretty standard at most places right now.

I will try my best to generalize this. Each County and or school district has there own guidelines and protocol. Some counties/Schools recognize as long as you are wearing masks then only the person who tested positive needs to quarantine. Some Counties and Schools, it doesn't matter, whether you are wearing masks or not, the positive case as well as anyone within 6 feet have to quarantine for set amount days 10-14.

County to county and school to school vary across the state. It seems odd that it is more consistent across the board, but this is my understanding.

If they followed a protocol, then the coach would have been wearing a mask and keeping the safe distance. Plus the comment about continuous contact.
