Honestly I dig at STL a lot, mostly because I was jaded by all the STL classmates in college who complained endlessly about how much SWMO sucked. They just didn’t know how to exist without a larger city to entertain them. Like taking a millenial’s iphone away. They struck me as awkwardly snobby, (even compared to the KC kids) and misguided in their belief that all of us locals wished we could be like them. They didn’t seem to have a firm grasp on the reality that STL actually has a pretty poor reputation elsewhere in the state.

Having said that I do actually like the ‘lou a lot. It’s a fun place to visit. All things considered I’ll concede it’s probably the most interesting region of Missouri and if someone were planning to visit Missouri I’d probably suggest they start in STL.

Yea and I like SWMO, I still have a decent amount of friends down there and all doing well.

I think it all depends on where you want to live in the state. I love SWMO, Monett is located about an hour from a lot of things. You can head down to Arkansas Bentonville Rogers Springdale metro area is fun, head to Springfield, you have Joplin, Branson is an easy drive, there are several lakes within driving distance. And St Louis there are some very nice areas, my daughter played Softball on a travel team up there, holy cow there are some areas up there that are very nice. But there are also some areas that scare the crap out of me. It's all in what you like and want.

Of all of the Ranked St Louis area HS football teams across all classes the only STL City school is Cardinal Ritter. They really dont understand how little STL City is compared to everything else.

Joplin, a town of 50k doesnt have the same violence as a major City with 3 million people. We already know this.
