It's hard to believe. But East side has strong contenders in every class this year. Even Webb in Class 4 does not look invincible this year.

There's a noticeable difference in the players I've seen on half a dozen varsity football teams. I hope it's just cycle.

We saw yesterday who is the clear cut favorite in Class 6 (CBC). As for Class 5 depends if Vianney (or some other sleeper) has the speed to run by Staley's D. Class 4 I really like what Ladue is doing just not sure the offense will (like the last two years) improve enough to win it all. Class 3 Trinity Catholic is the favorite but don't count your Spoofhounds out. Class 2 Lamar is king until proven otherwise. Class 1 is the most wide open of the bunch. The one class I KNOW without a doubt the East side WON'T win is 8-man

North Shelby isn't looking too bad so far in 8-man.
Are they east side? That aside I agree they are improved but not sure anyone has a team that will seriously challenge Worth County this year.

In 8 man From what I know... Mound City, Stanberry and Woco are the three best teams...I guess we will see how the bracket will be played out.

I think Worth county is the favorite right now as well.
And Orrick is the "wild card" sleeper right now.

This time every year, someone is talking up how tough the east side is. Then come playoff time ... crickets!

That may be, but there are a couple teams out of southeast Missouri that could make some noise this year. Add that to sim pretty stout st. Louis area teams, and the east side might have the advantage this year.

Also, Jackson is very salty and could make a deep run in the Class 5 Tournament this year. May even go all the way. Who knows? Sophmore QB Cael Welker and Senior WR Jordan Kent are a dynamic duo. Add Jackson Sophmore RB in there and they are dangerous. Very dangerous. So far this year, no team has scored on Jackson on their home field. (The Pit) Class 5 District 1 will come down to Jackson Vs. Fox and whoever wins that game has a good shot at making a deep run. I will however, give Jackson the edge for now.
