FIRST (of likely many) State playoff win!!!!!!!! Those kids played absolute lights out today! Go way back to when KMO hired him what my reaction was, folks. I do lots of things poorly but can spot a winner a mile away now look...................

BEST of luck next week in Jeff City!

There are so many classes below this group of kids that show a sign of good things to come. We have a group of kids that will if continue to improve might be the best Kearney teams yet but a lot of growth to happen. I know a group of 6th graders that are in Oklahoma this weekend in Pop Warner are just whooping it up on those OK kids.

My nephew was an assistant for the 4th grade Super Bowl winners on which his little boy played. They were running plays we see here since Minnick became HC and played fast, team D. In other words could not agree more!!!!

Running did not happen today for them.
My buddy I went to game with said very accurately Nevada's offense looked like slow motion compared to Kearney. Guaranteed they never saw the D Line and LB speed the locals showcased today. I was surprised how vanilla their offense was and it was very obvious they don't pass much.

KDogs play like this next weekend it is hello CoMo!

The Nevada offensive line was confused by the way the Kearney defensive line was shifting right before the snap. They had no idea who they were suppose to block.

Starting D from week 4 through this game giving up 5.8 points/game.

Was there ever a question as to whether Kearney would beat Nevada ?
Not really but the absolute domination was surprising. Would have thought Nevada would be able to carve out at least a few rushing first downs behind #55 in the first half.

Never mind circumstances getting that first State playoff win is a big deal. I hate sounding "gushy" because it is dead opposite of my true nature but Minnick is beyond the real deal. Now on to Jeff City Saturday...............

Yep, when this hire was made I thought to myself that there probably couldn't have been a better fit/hire.

You all at Fort got firsthand experience year in and out while he was at Raytown. Anyone who can go to a program like that and turn it into a perennial playoff contender (ranked in MO C5 top ten most if not all those years at one point or another) has to be elite. Kearney's huge deficiency when Logan arrived was offensive organization/consistency. He pinned that down immediately. The other big key they had made the right hire was reading what he says. All his interviews show Logan is not just a great, assertive leader (I expect to make an immediate impact) but a top notch professional (did not throw any of the prior coaching staff especially HC Gray under the bus in fact did the opposite).

That being said I've had occasion to question his adjustment from aforementioned Raytown to a program like Kearney but look how fast that turned around! Shooting par with two elite Highway 92 programs PC and Smithville is utterly amazing in just his second season. We shall see how things end up in 2023 but (hint) everyone in Kearney will learn what this new admin is really all about next year when returning numbers are far short of this one. The Dogs may look a bit different in 2024 but will keep on rolling bank on it..............

Previous leadership had too many athletes opting not to go out for football. This year, multiple starters had not played and decided to join the fun after a 10-1 season. But as I posted three years ago, these classes were loaded with future D1/D2 talent.

Talent, no doubt, has to be there but gotta have the right captain to mold it and that is beyond happening now. We all discussed those issues but they are, thankfully, ancient history now. I think TheDaddy is right this pipeline will continue for quite some time.
