I didn’t realize that districts counted as “the playoffs”. Interesting.

Been through this before...I am going to start charging tuition for these remedial lessons I am having to provide.

NOUN
play-off (noun) · play-offs (plural noun) · playoff (noun) · playoffs (plural noun)
  1. an additional game or period of play that decides the outcome of a tied contest:
"a sudden-death playoff was required to settle the tournament"
    • (PLAYOFFS)
a series of contests played to determine the winner of a championship, as between the leading teams in different divisions or leagues:
"Chandler was credited with taking his team to the playoffs"
So in your world, losing in "Districts" means you still get to play the next week?

One of the best to ever do it at KHS.
Pass combo of he and Manny Linthacum (will be featured on Fox 4 Sports tonight at 10 btw) was smooth as silk and dependable as the rising Sun.

He and Benny (no offense intended to any other former KMO QBs) are neck and neck in my mind different as their QB styles were/are. Can't wait to see where Casey lands for college. Somebody is getting a good one!

Maybe one of the Dakotas will come on strong, they love Kearney, MO.

So this whole time…. You’ve had it in your head that Kearney didn’t have a 7 year playoff drought. It all makes sense now.

Rooney started the Platte County game. A game Kearney lost. A game in which he threw an interception. How could he be 12-0

Oh yeah, he played a couple plays in the first series. You mean, a game Kearney Lite lost? We see what happened when Kearney was at full strength and QB1 was healthy.

So this whole time, you thought if you lost in a post-season district game that the season wasn't over? That it wasn't the dictionary definition of "playoff?" Here is how it works. There is a post-regular season game that occurs. When you lose, you are done for the season. Some people call that a playoff. Like the people that write Webster's Dictionary.

I am always willing to help out the mentally challenged.

He appeared to be a good caretaker of the offense. Not a great passer, just didn't make mistakes. Which is what they needed from him. Congrats to he and his teammates on a great season.

I can’t see where this definition actually applies to districts.

First part, “playoffs” used to decide a tied contest (not applicable to district football).

Second part, a series of contests between the “leading teams”. In Missouri football, districts are a series of contests between “ALL” teams.

So losers play the next week. Thanks for clarifying. Now we know it is not a playoff where just winners move on. Another Fng brilliant act of circumlocution to get around the fact that it is a Fing playoff. Seniors won't have to cry anymore. Because when they lose in the district tournament, JACKTARDS here have decided it is not a playoff. THus they get to play ANOTHER game.

Just going by the definition that you provided. It doesn’t defend your point as neither scenario is applicable.

I personally view the football districts as playoffs. But if you want to win an argument, don’t use points that are not applicable.

Please contact MSHSAA and tell them to delete the 22 references they make to post season “playoffs” including the district “playoffs.”

Are you talking to me? Why would I do that?

Is he your son, Joseph? You must be very proud. Congratulations to you and him for the marvelous season. Kearney has put together quite a ball club lately.

Is the junior LB, Theo Grace, a P5 prospect in your opinion?

I’ve been on here over 12 years Jacktard.
Love me some newbies.

Pretty good season for a guy that was injured all offseason and missed the first three games. Ended up with 124 tackles. Will be scary with a full year of prep. Get the ambulances ready.

Easy there, @PunyPete. You need to go read the "Whats your thing" thread. You would know that 'jacktard' is one of Joey's things
It's also the kind of stuff people say on the internet because they know that, unlike in real life, they won't get their ass kicked over it. It's why loser WT like Joey get real brave on here.

Not sure why anyone would not call it a playoff... that is exactly what it is.. now I understand calling them DISTRICT playoffs and STATE playoffs, but thats about it.

It's so hard for me to sit back here, in this office
Looking at a guy on MoRivals hollering MY NAME
When last year I spent more money on SPILT liquor
In bars from one side of this world to the other, than you MADE
YOU'RE talking to the Rolex wearing, diamond ring wearing, kiss stealing (WOO!)
Wheeling dealing, Limousine riding, Jet Flying, son of a gun
And I’m having a hard time holding these alligators down
Woo!

Last I knew, Rufus R. Jones was a NOBODY wrestler in Kansas City. And the only Jewlery he owned was a CRACKED gold tooth.
