Since I'm fairly new to high school sports, and I don't no anything about MSHSAA except for rules in sports. I know Bishop ward is private school in ks that is in a Missouri Conference.

Can a Public school either from KS or IL can join a conference in Missouri?

I would not necessarily look for this Crossroads Conference alliance to last much longer. Ward is barely able to field an 11-man FB team. Their major sport is baseball............or at least it used to be. As a side note Christ Prep also used to play in this league. Why they exited is a question for which I do not have the answer.

As long as they area member of IHSA they can play a Mo school or join a conference if approved by the conference. West Hancock IL plays 4 CCC schools and it has been brought up about them joining. Has never came to a vote.

Elwood Ks was in the Platte Valley Conference. Maranantha (sp), I think was in the Crossroads. The old Pony Express League which was Chrisman, Wentworth, North KC and the St. Joe schools and Maur Hill. I think, after the CEMO ended that Hannibal was part of an Illinois conference for a while. Would not bet the farm on that.

I think there is a few Iowa schools in a conference with some smaller schools in the NE. Back in the day when there were only 5 schools in the MEC, Maryville would play schools from Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska. Pvc had Elwood in the conference. Last Friday woco played Bedford, IA. I'm sure you could get a out of state school in.

I thought a way where Hannibal could be in a conference where traveling isn't a issue. Hannibal is surrounded by Class 1 and 2 schools and they have travel a hour or more for away for NCMC games.
Here my idea

NCMC
East Division
Hannibal
Quincy High
Quincy Notre
Macomb High, I OR Keokuk,IA
Kirksville

West Division
Fulton
Marshall
Mexico
Moberly
New team from Tri-County or CCC

That's not a bad set up for Hannibal. The NCMC is so wacky but I don't know how to fix it. Both Hannibal and Marshall have to travel over an hour to every single conference away game. There's got to be a better option out there but who knows what that answer would be.

If we're being totally honest, Hannibal is just too big for the NCMC. In a perfect world, Hannibal would join a league with Troy, SCW or some of the St Charles county schools and the NCMC could add a geographically-friendly class 3 school like Centralia and/or Macon.

I agree. Hannibal has over 200 more students then any other NCMC schools. I feel sorry for schools like Marshall and Fulton to travel all the way to Hannibal and get blown out by the second quarter. The good thing for the NCMC this year is Hannibal having a down year. Marshall and Fulton might have a shot to win against Hannibal this year.

I hope you're right - and not because i don't like Hannibal, but the conference could benefit from some more parity. Hannibal wins about 80% of the conference titles.

Wow that looks like a good idea. That would solve Hannibal's (and Kville) problem of being a big school all by themselves geographically. Maybe Southern Boone, Centrailia, Wright City or Macon would join up?

Hannibal having a down year vs Helias and Jeff City. We'll see once the get into conference play.
