If they have it they need to raise the top of that box up to where it should be. I still don't see how you get the call in a timely manor. It is difficult for me to imagine that, in 2019, the computers wouldn't be more consistent from game to game and from at bat to at bat.
Come on man. It's automated. Literally a beep or buzz in the ear piece of an umpire standing behind the plate. Your phone rings when someone calls you, not minutes later. Same concept. If they have it they need to raise the top of that box up to where it should be. I still don't see how you get the call in a timely manor.
An umpire calls it from what he sees, most of them immediately. That ain't gonna happen with a buzzer in his ear. You see it now when the TV guys say that was late call, They will all be late by the current standard and you need a quick call on some occasions with runners on. You might be surprised how long it takes to make a call to someone. Many times when I make a call I have to look at the phone to see if I dialed it right because it takes 8 or 10 seconds before it ever rings. Drives me crazy!Come on man. It's automated. Lol. Probably limited service. It's a split second, it won't affect anything. Look up some video of how it's done in the Atlantic League. I swear man, you can get lost on the strangest of things sometimes. An umpire calls it from what he sees, most of them immediately. That ain't gonna happen with a buzzer in his ear. I ain't lost on anything here, I haven't seen it and I don't even know what thenAtlantic league is. I have Verizon, which is THE best in this area for service, why would the phone not even ring when I call somebody. I am NOT exaggerating, I drove 2 blocks the other day after I hit the call button before it started ringing. I guess cell phones are like computers, they have mind of their own sometimes.Lol. Just look up the video of the Atlantic League. All you have to do to answer your question is Google Atlantic League Robotic Umpire. Have a field day.I ain't lost on anything here, I haven't seen it and I don't even know what thenAtlantic league is. So does the umpire get to stand out of the way of fouls balls when they go to the robo calls? It pops up on tv the moment they make the pitch, surely they can find some way to communicate that to people on the field. Not exactly rocket science in the digital age.
