Yes, I read the article. And yes, it was well researched and well written. That does not mean it was the truth about all people.

The training our police and military receive are not a waste of time, and I never said that is was.

I guess where I am from, EVERYBODY has a gun, and knows how to use them. Do they often do so in a life and death situation, no, but if I was in serious trouble, and a bystander or friend showed up WITHOUT a gun, I would be pretty disappointed.

Now I realize most people don't live in a rural area, and things that work out here are not necessarily going to work in the city. I would agree there is a large portion of the populous that are too far removed from taking care of themselves, they need to leave the job of protecting themselves to the professionals.

A step in the right direction is eliminate clip type weapons. Before the spin masters step in, I know the last dude didn't have that type arsenal most other mass shootings have.
