Cold

Maybe because Trump and the right are relentless on attacking the mainstream "liberal" "fake news".
The media wants to score points when Trump is doing the wrong thing. Journalist are nurses and doctors on the front line. Thats it. Lol

nobody did this right...why keep going back to the gutter? what is the point?

We don’t know that these lockdowns will actually have the effect of saving lives. It’s possible, as Dr. Fauci has admitted himself, that the virus could come roaring back to life whenever we emerge from our homes. It’s also possible that the illness came to America in November, December, or January, aboard any of the hundreds of thousands of travelers from China who poured into our country during that span.

it was only like 400,000 people..haha. No big deal.... and studies show that humidity makes it harder to transmit...its like sars, flu, and colds in that regard.

Also, perfectly healthy young people die from the flu as well... https://time.com/5099042/influenza-deaths-flu/ (5 seconds on google)

You sure? How about not being allowed to lawfully assemble in Churches?
I've seen many churches on TV that are holding services while under a stay at home order in their state or city. I have heard of none of them being arrested.

Get ready for a litany of lawsuits if they choose to file them. People can make their own decisions as to what they want to do with their individual liberties. At the end of the day that's the pastor, rabbi, priest, whatever's decision.

Is it "your decision" when you put others in danger?

it’s immaturity. Sacrifice a month of regular activities to ensure the safety of your family and neighbors. It’s like the freshman who has a football game the day after Labor Day but he stays up until 2:00am playing video games the day before. Not mature enough to give up what he wants at the moment to benefit himself and his team in the near future. Selfish and immature.

I’m not saying I would attend at this point, but that isn’t the point. Kind of like you can’t say things that offend other people... no... that’s protected.
Offending somebody and spreading a serious/deadly virus ain't exactly the same thing.

Yes, even then. The 1st Amendment doesn't stop because of a pandemic. Adults can choose whether or not they want to attend church services and put themselves at risk. Adults can choose whether or not to even have these services.

It should NOT be up to the government to decide. That's fascism.

The first amendment is just a suggestion.

Our church in Ozark was denied permission to have the Easter service in the parking lot with a FM transmitter. No one would have gotten out of their car. I thought it was a great idea.

Sue. Unless the Constitution doesn't matter, you'll win.

Did you hear about the teachers that gathered in a parking area and stayed in their cars?

No but I know a church in Mt Vernon has been doing the same type service without issue.
I attend a mega size liberal Baptist Church, which is code for they selectively believe in the Bible.
We have Facebook live. Our minister is a nice guy that spends 10 of thousands on outreach projects. But a nerd, so we've been shut down for quite some time. Social distancing.

A situation like a pandemic or a war definitely challenges our values and rights.

But, freedom of religion has never meant freedom to do literally what you want all the time. It means the government can't do things that boost or oppose your faith, and it has to make reasonable accommodations to allow you to practice your faith even if that is very different than how others want you to act.

I think it is difficult to argue that being banned from large gatherings when every other large gathering is banned for a very obvious reason is something that is a restriction on freedom of religion - especially in 2020 when you can livestream your services and make other accommodations.

I find the questions about religion less interesting from a rights standpoint than questions about a general ability to limit assembly or movement.

This. If it was only or mostly churches, there would be a great concern. That they can prevent any gathering concerns me more.
