Not much change in score from last week. Can't ever recall a season with so many games where everyone was wrong. But Joplin is a total mystery right now, a C6 state runner up, opening the season with a win over Webb City and since losing 3 games one of which was to an 0-4 team.
At this point I am looking at the Nixa, Webb City, and possibly Carthage. These 3 teams will start playing each other over the next few weeks so that will get interesting. But for this week here's what we've got:
Webb City at Branson: Branson almost got this game a couple years ago and they are definitely improved but it's just really hard to pick against WC. If Branson can pass efficiently without throwing INTs it seems possible they could have a chance. Webb City 35-10
Carthage at Willard: I think this will come down to Carthage having their O-Line back and ready. They were a bit short handed on the line vs Branson and if that's the case again it could be a tough game. But assuming both teams are fully ready to go I'll say Carthage 35-17
Republic at Joplin: No idea here. On one hand they beat Webb City. But they also just lost to Willard. And Ozark. And Nixa. Republic is on a 3 game skid but they've played similar tough teams. Joplin's defense is bad. I'll reluctantly go with Joplin at home? 34-31
Carl Junction at Neosho: I see no reason to suspect that Neosho won't get spanked again. From here CJ's quest for post season action begins. CJ 35-7
Nixa at Ozark: Some have suggested this is the battle for the COC. I don't see it. Ozark is good this year but Nixa looks a lot better. At this point they are my favorite for the COC. Nixa 41-24
