Here are the updated scores from friday's games. After Friday it seems we have 2 teams clearly at the top. Joplin a few notches below them. And at this point everyone else seems to be pretty even is in the distance which will make for some difficult picks for games not involving the 3 top teams.

And my picks for the games this week:

Carthage at Neosho: Carthage took care of business with Joplin while Neosho had a painful reality check. Neosho has played Carthage very tough in a few games over the last season, more so than many teams but unless Carthage stumbles over their own feet they should roll on.

WC at Branson: WC obvious favorite on the road at Branson.

Willard at CJ: This is a tough call. CJ's only win basically fell into their lap at Republic. I only pick CJ because they are at home and it seems like teams have a hard time winning there.

Ozark at Nixa: Again no clue.

Republic at Joplin: Joplin is probably feeling pretty deflated from being in the discussion for top billing and now in a hangover from 2 tough losses. How they play at Republic may define the rest of their season and if they are going to fade back into mediocrity or get up and make a serious run for their C6 district.

Carthage 47-7, never close

Webb City 35-18, game won’t ever be in doubt but for some reason Branson seems to keep the spread down a bit when Webb City travels there.

Willard 21-19, Willard seems to handle CJ pretty well, finally get the win against the Bulldogs.

Ozark 14-13 don’t really know anything but these two teams play each other close frequently, ozark gets their first win over their rival

Joplin 52-20 Eagles run up the score to get some frustration out.

Take a listen to this weeks webb city podcast if you all want to hear inappropriate Ride the Ducks jokes made by the host. Used to love listening to the podcast for some good COC football info but both times Ive listened this year Ive been turned off by some of the comments.

Episode 4- Branson. Don't know what it is time wise but it comes maybe 1/3 of the way through when talking about Branson. It used to be a show where Chris would give a good overview of the opponent and then preview the game with Coach Rod. Quality stuff. Now there's cohosts and it's turned into an hour of being uppity, ripping opponents, and dumb jokes. I guess its their show and they can do what they want. If you're a webb city person you probably like the change. But as a neutral football fan it's pretty distasteful to me. No thanks.

Wow, Just listened. I know they were joking, but that was very inappropriate! Over half of that Pod cast was these guys talking crap on each other instead of talking football. I bet Webb's coaches distance themselves from this crap fast!

Inappropriate yes, and there's a big difference between things you would say in private company and what you would broadcast over the internet. I have heard many things this year on there that I did not think were a representation of what Webb City stands for. Listened to them make fun of Willard's players and coaches for 10 minutes on episode 2, make jokes about Joplin and the people who live there, on an on. Not the same style that used to be produced.
