COC Pick Em 2022 - Week 8

We're getting close to the end here! Really no huge surprises so far this season other than I would have put Webb City as #2 and Joplin at 4. Based on the games I've watched the top 4 teams are in a different category than everyone else.

This week features what could be a great contest between Joplin and Carthage to see who will likely lay claim over 2nd in the COC. A few of the other games have potential to be interesting.

Republic at Nixa
Ozark at Branson
Webb City at Neosho
Joplin at Carthage
Willard at Carl Junction
 
Nixa at home over Republic. Republic is improving and they might make it interesting especially if Nixa is starting to look on to district action. But Nixa is just too good.
Ozark over Branson - This game really seems like a toss up to me. Neither team has found ways to win. But Ozark appears to have a much more capable offense so in my mind that should give them an edge here.
Webb City over Neosho - Neosho is loads better than last year. They will no doubt put up some points against the Cardinals but not enough to win. Webb City won't need to resort to passing because Neosho won't stop them from running.
Carthage over Joplin - This game really could go either way. I expect Carthage to struggle big time defending Joplin's dynamic offense possibly more than any team they've faced so far. I'm just leaning on the history that Carthage tends to approach this game with confidence. Carthage will need to be careful about letting down their guard if they get up early as Joplin is highly capable of making comebacks and scoring quickly.
Carl Junction over Willard - This is Willards best opportunity to get a win unless they get paired with Parkview in district. But I still think CJ is quite a bit better.

Nixa in cruise control 🚤 over Republic. Don’t be surprised if REPMO rushes for 100-150 yards. They have been able to run the ball on everyone in the conference.
The Ozark 🐅 Triple Threat over Branson. (This game is actually a toss up).
Webb City over Neosho. Hoping Neosho scores 42-45 points though. That offense is awesome!
Carthage over Joplin. Joplin has hella-weapons…until the Luke G. Show is stopped- that team is running anywhere they want to go.
Carl Junction over Willard. Will the Willard team that scores 70+ on Neosho show up and make this a game? Should be a close one regardless.

You better hope Webb doesn’t turn it over about 4 times. Granted, Neosho doesn’t exactly do much to create turnovers. But Webb is also fairly proficient at creating their own turnovers. Could be an interesting prop bet.

Finally! Admittedly I don't think Neosho has much better than a 0% chance but I do actually think they have A chance at this one. If nothing else they should be much more competetive than they have against WC in years past.

I think they will score a lot but they may not stop Webb once
