Here's one for all of us experts out there. Let's say a person has been hired to be head coach of a sport at one school but is planning on continuing to be involved in running another school's feeder program and the school he is hired at is a private school but the school he runs the feeder program is a public school. Any rules being broken here or just your typical stuff here?

Is this person connected to the Booster Club for EITHER school??

I have no idea about that. My other initial question is, why would he be allowed to do that by the school's head coach or administration? Maybe as simple of an answer as, well no one else will do it...

If there is a connection, you might have a pretty serious issue here. No connection? This should be a non-issue. Not sure if there is a connection? FOLLOW THE MONEY!!!

Phog Allen coached at two different schools at the same time over 100 years ago.

Do they have a kid in the program? Is it the only feeder in town or does the private have their own feeder program?

My understanding of the potential situation/actual situation....this is all hearsay obviously; but the coach had kids in the public school which is why he was involved with feeder program in first place and decided to leave, got hired at this private school and now plans to still keep his status running the feeder program. That's all I got.

If it benefits the kids, it is a good thing!! And the person should be applauded. Public, private, black, white, red, green, suburban, inner city, rural, west, east, ….not an issue!!!

Coaching at a private and running a feeder for a public is very strange, especially for the same sport. I can't imagine why that would be allowed. The public would have much more to lose in that situation.

One thing I do know is machine pitch, little league, summer league, travel league, etc. has many people involved for all the right reasons, and many people involved for all the wrong rea$on$. You would hope it would be ran through the school, with multiple people on the bank accounts. Pretty easy for Johnny's mom to pay the $$300 fee with two hundreds, a fify, and five tens. Also pretty easy for three of those tens to get lost and then be found in someones gas tank. Obviously I don't know the situation, and not saying this is related since there are no details, but lets get real one of the big reasons for the explosion of travel ball is there is money to be made. Some of these youth tournaments are charging almost $700 entry fees. "Showcase" charging up to a couple of grand.

Just a guess, but based on other threads I have read from some of the people that have chimed in on this one, I would guess that this thread might (????) be referring to St. Pius X HS in Festus. Just a guess, but thought I would throw it out there for those that might be wondering. Very interesting matchup with St. Pius X vs. Jefferson R7 this week in the district semifinal when I believe it is possible (according to sources) that Jefferson R7 had a hand in Pius forfeiting a game earlier this year. I am not a Jefferson County person but have friends in that area who are somewhat familiar with these schools.

Nice to know any malfeasance will not affect state title games

I certainly don't have a dog in the fight, nor know where this is about. End of the day, rules are rules, and they are there for safety and keeping a level playing field. You either follow them or you don't, and you either get caught or you don't. Mizzou self reporting a few years ago and expecting a slap on the wrist vs the KU basketball stuff they get away with comes to mind in it isn't always fair or just.

My opinion - the school and varsity head coach should have control over pee-wee, little league, feeder, etc. Their should be multiple people on the financial side to keep an eye on things so nobody is skimming or flat out stealing. Doing a simple casenet check is a good place to start to make sure they are reputable, trustworthy, and law abiding. Fingerprint, check previous employers, and do your homework.
