Coaches -

With it being the middle of February I was hoping that we could have a good discussion on some of the top clinic speakers/presentations that you may have seen this off season. Provide as much information as possible...

Saw a presentation this weekend that I found interesting. Presenter was from New Jersey. He did a great job talking through QB Drills and Mechanics. He had a ton of drill tape! That is always a plus. The most interesting part though was him talking through his offensive pre-snap adjustments. On many plays his offensive unit would align anywhere they wanted to on the field. When the QB yelled "Scat" they would run to their correct formation, stay set for 1 second and then run the play. The style seemed unique and definitely would cause some confusion for the defense. They had won three state championships in the past 5 years. Interesting idea!

The players he had "scatting" probably had more to do with it than the formation. Just sayin'

Yeah, like when the Kirkwood football coach did a presentation on special teams and all the video was of Jeremy Maclin????

How much coaching went on there?

While the QB wouldn't yell scat, I believe that Boonville in the early-mid 2000s did something similar. When I was a freshman, we watched a lot of game tape and ran scout teams that had a lot of odd line ups and then motions before the snap.
