Does anyone have any thoughts as it relates to Class 4 as we get closer to Districts and, of course, the Final Four?

Who looks good at the end?

Can't argue with your picks Metro. I have seen Bolivar play a few times they have a very nice club, a good big and a handful of nice guards. I give them the edge but I do not know much about Lafayette??

It will be tough for a Rolla team to beat a Helias team on Crusaders court twice in 1 year. Both teams are very talented and can make a run at the final four. Only 1 comes out though. No way does Helias gym hold everyone that night so get there early.

Glendale(13-8, 5-1) defeated Lebanon 80-39 in a make-up game tonight. Monty Johal scored 41, which makes him only the third player in Glendale history to score over 40 points in a single game. Spencer Wester is no longer on the team, which will hurt us going forward and really hurt us next season. A real shame too. Yet another move-in bust for Glendale. One of MANY over the years.

He had 24 at half. No disrespect to Lebanon, but you could make a case for the entire game being garbage time. They weren't the same team that played West Plains VERY CLOSE on Tuesday.

Johal is now only 663 from Spud's school record and he could yet hit 1,000 career points this season (or pretty close to it).

The loss of Wester should kick Glendale out of the T of C next year (in my opinion).

St. Joe Lafayette has played a very impressive slate and has much incentive on its side after being shocked by Platte Co in last year's district tournament. I know Bolivar brought a lot back so would about 100 percent expect that to be your C4 quarterfinal up this way..............

McTague seems to be all about getting Monty his points, but I'm not sure what the other players will think of that or how it will serve the team's interests as a whole. In the Kickapoo game he left Monty in to pressure the ball full court against Kickapoo's backups in garbage time so he could go for a couple of steals and easy buckets. Johal even backed off at one point (because I think he is more sensible than his coach) but McTague gestured for him to move back up and keep pressuring the ball full court.

Oh, and my pick for Class 4 is Bolivar.

I guess Johal should never get the ball.

Yes of course that is exactly what I'm saying. (Cue eye roll) When a guy with a 41 point scoring game is still on the court with 4 minutes or less to play during a running clock in a 40 point win over a team with 4 wins on the season, that strikes most fans as a little unusual.

Oh, come on! Let him get to 40 points! It's not like we've got much else going on at this point. Yet another season (four in a row!) where we're way off our historical norm. So, why not watch a kid go off during a record breaking career?!?

He only took 16 shots in that game. He scored 41 because he made nearly all of them. Literally. Was 13 for 16. Probably worth noting he only had four points in the fourth quarter, on the first two possessions.

Kid is going to go down as one of the best offensive players to ever play in SWMO. Only in today's world would getting him the ball be considered bad coaching.

Look out for Webb City in Class 4, definite dark horse to make a final 4 run. Has beaten Ozark and has a close loss to Class 5 contender Republic.

Webb has some size and when they play together, it's a fun thing to watch.

I've not seen them in person this year, just on cube but they definitely have plenty of size and they are going to be a tough team in districts. I'm not saying that they are going to run to the Final 4 necessarily but they have played a good schedule and are probably better than their record suggests. The only team that really handled WC this year was Tulsa Memorial.

Have not seen Webb in person. I know they lost to Branson the other night. I have seen Bolivar and will be shocked if they arent the team to come out of SWMO

Bolivar is grouped in with KC/NWMO. Rolla is the favorite in SWMO districts without a doubt but Webb City could come out of Districts 11-12.

Webb City has a nice team, and they have certainly come a long ways since last year. And they do have a lot of size. Got some questionable losses in there though. ..

First number one seed for Glendale since 2006, which is also the last district title Glendale won (15 regional/district titles overall). Wait, we may have been a #1 seed in 2007. Can't recall.

Glendale is not a team a lot of folks would want to face in the postseason. Record isn't flashy but they've played a tough schedule and have a couple of explosive scorers. Lack of size could catch up with them though.

I was at the Branson game and Webb was not in it, mentally, it seemed. Once they started to press and made Branson make mistakes, they were able to come back to make it interesting. I have found if they aren't hitting from the outside, it's been hard for them to find other ways to score. Nixa should be a good testing ground to see what type of team they could become.

I saw them play at Carthage and they were very good, but didn't seem to capitalize on their height advantage. Not to take away from the win but the lopsided score seemed to be in large part a result of Carthage shortcomings (mainly the total lack of offense after the half) than Webb's domination. WC shot a ton of threes. They made a lot of them too, but I couldn't figure out why that was even a necessary part of their strategy given their height. They also, like many teams this season have capitalized on Carthage's very poor rebounding and were able to get many second, 3rd, 4th, 5th, attempts on many possessions. They won't have that luxury against teams after districts.

Webb will probably easily win the district, but I don't know how far they will make it beyond that. I talked to some friends that were at the huge win over Nixa, so perhaps when the going gets tough they will put all of their chips on the table and play to win when it really matters. I think they definitely have the pieces to go far, if they gel and use them all the right way and at the right time.
