I attended the class 4 district one finals @ St. Gen tonight and it was worth the 1:20 minute drive from my house. I have heard the Sikeston Bulldogs have not been playing well and the Vashon-Sikeston game in the sectionals was in jeopardy. Well, I believe the Vashon game is still on as most of my basketball friends have predicted.
I enjoyed the game and I'm looking forward to the Vashon-Sikeston game a week from Sat @ Jefferson College. It appeared to me the Bulldogs were more ready to play the game tonight then the Cape Central Tigers who have major problem @ the free throw line.
The Bulldogs team, the Sikeston crowd, The Bums. The cheerleaders and the Sikeston coaching staff were all having fun and it appeared the players confidence level was boosted by their performance tonight.
I was introduced to the Sikeston Superintendent @ the game tonight, this was refreshing to me to see him cheering for his team. I don't see this very often here in St. Louis. This was a reminder for me to remember how it was when I lived in Southeast, Missouri. I miss that part of the game when the whole town is backing the team.
I will be in St. Clair tomorrow evening to see the heavy favored Pacific Indians girls compete against Sullivan. I may stick around to see the heavy favored Borgia Knights play the " New Kids " for the class 4 district 6 championship. I believe both the Borgia fans and the Sullivan fans will be out in force.
