Class 4: Ladue @ Hillsboro

Ladue hasn't, but it's not very hard to gameplan for and the Rams are a physical, probably bigger team than Hillsboro.
may not be hard to game plan for, but the discipline it requires to stop it is difficult to prepare for if you haven't seen it and you don't have a scout team that has ran a bunch of it.

Bigger means absolutely nothing to an option team. That is why the service academies run it. They average about 260 on the OL in D1 football.

Just spitballing here, but this has to be a factor in Lamar's run, no? That offense can't be replicated in practice very easy with little or no knowledge.

Couple with not being able to soundly run your normal base defense.

They routinely practice against 5, 6, probably even 7 man fronts, while a team probably only plays that front against Lamar. You're not staying in your base 4-3 against that. You might be able to tweak some things if your a Stack or 4-4 team, but it's still not what you're normally playing on D.

Ladue led 27-6 in the second half and holds on for a 34-20. The defensive front seven was excellent tonight, but the secondary should've done better on those 3rd and long pass plays.

On offense you have to give some credit to Hillsboro's secondary by limiting Ladue's passing game. Andrew Hunt didn't play tonight on an account of being, "a little banged up," by coach Tarpey and that he could have played, but didn't want to risk it. That sounds like he should be back next week. I think the Rams did enough to score, but defense won them the game.
