Being from St. Louis, Ladue has been on a hot streak since week four when they got back their quarterback Jordan Jackson. 9-0, and the first-team defense hasn't allowed a point in the second half of a game.

Here's a video I made when Ladue beat Parkway West to give you an idea of what they do:

I got to see Hillsboro versus MICDS and actually got it on video:

Ladue looks slow. not good against webb. its all about team speed

They're faster than you think. That game actually doens't do Ladue a whole lot of justice because it mainly showcases their defense and them running the ball. #7 Dale Chesson (younger bro of Jehu who plays for the Chiefs) has turned into a very good receiver. I recommend you watch some of the players hudl highlights.

I saw Ladue in person last Friday. Not impressed. In any facet of the game.

QB seemed to play an entertaining style on the video highlights against Pkwy West. Dangerous talent or nah?
Jordan Jackson has been recovering from a leg injury since two weeks before the season started and returned in Week 4. He seems like he's 100% now based on the last handful of games.

He is dangerous with his speed and arm, plus he's very composed. Ladue's coach told me in the preseason that Jackson is like a coach on the field. I wouldn't say he playes an entertaining style compared to a Johnny Manziel type because he hardly ever runs around in the pocket, but he's capable.

They are all entertaining until they play a team that plays defense and knocks snot bubbles out of them
They played undefeated Class 5 Fort Zumwalt North in Week 1 and lost 42-21. Jordan Jackson did not play because of an injury. Had he played it would've been a much better game.

Is MICDS any good? No. So no, not impressed. Qb is tiny, quick but tiny. When, if, they go against a team that will line up and hit them, they’ll crumble.

Not even the fact that they held MICDS to 50 total yards in the second half?

Maniac is another "tough guy" who doesnt think anyone is any good. I remember one year when the Webbies said Clayton couldnt win a game in the west and we know what happened then.

You mean after the year Clayton had to forfeit for recruiting Byrd?

MICDS isn't great, but they overachieved to get to where they were and had a lot of good athletes. However their line was small, which Ladue took advantage of. Their record was 9-3 and state ranked at least at some point during the season and maybe after Week Nine if I'm not mistaken.

I'm more impressed with the size of Ladue's offensive and defensive lines. That's how they win games.

On the largest scale I wouldn't be too impressed with how they beat MICDS, but 52-21 in the district championship against a rival who was pissed off at you for ending their season last year is not bad at all.

They will have to be disciplined and swarm the football to stop Hillsboro. MICDS did a good job doing that very thing against Hillsboro last month.

Ladue is very good at doing that. That's how they beat teams. One thing though, I don't think they've played a team that runs Hillsboro's formation, so that could be a challenge. However, on the other side of the ball Hillsboro has a lot on their hands stopping the Rams offense.

There's a lot of that going around in Webb City in the past few days. Notice that they waited until after beating CJ in districts to start talking smack? They had some doubt.

Just by looking at these two teams it looks like Ladue has more team speed and a line just as good as Hillsboro's if not better. Certainly taller.

Ladue looks pretty solid to me. Certainly pretty athletic. It is always tough to read because I think the brand of football played on the West is more smashmouth. Not to say Ladue is soft.

After watching some film, if Ladue's linebackers are smart, and they usually are then Ladue could shutout Hillsboro. The Hawks like to run inside handoffs to #44 and double-dive option runs or fakes. The Rams are very good at getting to the edges, but I can see this being a back and forth game if Ladue doens't slow down Hillsboro and if the Hawks can't do the same to the Rams offense, who I see having another big day.

I doubt Hillsboro has seen a wide receiver as good as Dale Chesson. Not only is very fast, but strong too.

The year Byrd dominated the game.
He didn't dominate anything,,,he was held to less than 100 yards rushing

And you are talking about a guy that four years later was playing in the NFL Pro Bowl,,, it took one of the very best players in the nation to take Webb to overtime and win when Webb came up6 inches short on a two point conversion

You run your mouth like Clayton blew Webb out by 40 lol

No i didnt dipstick. Re-read what I said. Your kids are awesome but you big mouths acted like Clayton wasnt squat right here on this message board. He showed you otherwise. He made some huge plays on defense also. Try to stop being a knowitall and listen and you might learn something.

Incidently the year before Clayton had to forfeit all of their games because rumor has it Ladue tipped off MSHSAA that Byrd was indeed ineligible. They took Clayton's place in the playoffs and lost in the state championship to Kearney 43-0. Ladue lost to them 14-10 last year in fact.

I dont remember what Byrd threw for or ran for but he made a million tackles . To say he didn't dominate that game would be silly. That being said Webb lost that game more then Clayton won. Dropped passes everywhere ...missed I think two pat and a fg. I dont blame them for going for 2 as they couldn't convert kicks that night. I asked coach rod years later if it was the right call to go for two. He had a simple response ..."play to win"

I witnessed both games. 2003 speaks for itself. Last year I really thought Ladue was going to come back and win it. Had they had their all purpose SR (sorry don't remember his name) probably would've been in Springfield.

Is there any way we can focus on the teams and kids who will be playing Friday instead of getting into an inconsequential pissing match over a game that has been said and done for over a decade.

Good luck to Ladue and Hillsboro on Friday...you know, the two teams this thread is supposed to be about.

Chino Davis is his name and he's currently on the Truman State roster. He had a hell of season last year and it was an unfortunate travesty to not have him availabe after injuring his leg in the previous game. Ladue really missed him on offense because he was big, strong, and fast. However it may not have mattered because Kearney dominated the LOS in that game and there was hardly ever any space up the middle to run.

Lol thank you. We were getting away from that.

I'll put this way: If Ladue don't prepare well or the kids somehow overlook Hillsboro then this will be a close game with the edge to the Hawks. However, if the Rams are prepared and the players keep their heads straight then this will be a blowout and a running clock in the second half.

Watching HIllsboro's defense they seem a little too slow and their secondary is ordinary compared to what Ladue has faced this season. Based on their last two games the Hawks have given up 42 points to Farmington and 28 to Cape Central, and Ladue's offense is tougher than both of them. Hillsboro's line will have to play out of their minds to limit the Rams with any big plays from QB Jordan Jackson or RB Andrew Hunt. Then they have to focus on WR Dale Chesson.

Hillsboro will have to eat up a lot of clock on offense IMO if they want to keep this game close.

I will say this... Ladue hasn't really faced an offense that Hillsboro runs and that will be a challenge, however the Rams are very good at stopping the run. The last time they gave up over 200 yards was to SLUH in Week Two. Also they're big and athletic. I could see the Rams get confused with those inside handoffs the Hawks run with #44, but eventually Ladue will figure it out.

The option is a great equalizer. If teams don't match up to all 3 phases it could make for a long night. Especially since, as you've already stated, Ladue really hasn't seen an offense like this.

I remember when I was growing up in the 1980's and the Big 8 (college) was going you had Nebraska, Oklahoma and Colorado all running option style attacks. It trickled down to almost every HS team. We all faced it and knew how to defend it. Now with so many spread style offenses not many run it or know how to defend it. I miss those days old days of football and really like the teams that continue to run it.
