So is Simoncic. They do have the QB and one of their top WRs returning. Next kids up but, yes, no way they are near as good as this year BUT that hasn't stopped Platte County who has as even up shot at going right back to the State playoffs in Class 5.
Hopefully he stays, His wife works in the district and his son is a Soph. they are also building a great new work out facility.
A great QB can make everyone look good. Platte County has been a wonder to me...I saw them Week 1 get completely dominated by Park Hill South in every aspect of the game.
Neither is the same as week 1. 810varsity has some interesting district playoff predictions and odds.

Kind of amazed it was 14-7 at the end of 1Q with Tonka and Smithville. Someone actually scored on their A team D.
I did not think they got dominated. The better team did win. But the game was much closer than the final score. It wasn't really on ice until the 4th quarter.
They were kinda touting Excelsior making the district final scoring on the Warriors first team D. Problem there is the OTHER side of the ball.
Smithville is kind of like a boa...they keep squeezing you. Excellent execution, coaching, and teamwork. Everything is just done well. You get to the end of the game, and you only have 100-150 yards on them, and they have 350-400 on you. Although the weather the past couple days could definitely slow down some of the precision outside passing though.

I was at the game Winnetonka scored because Smithville‘s punt returner fumbled the ball at their own 20 yard line. The game was never in doubt. Smithville is running a more conservative offense since they are missing their number one receiver who is also their punt returner out with an injury. They had two sophomores taking snaps at receiver. Winnetoka couldn’t move the ball but on a couple broken plays. Smithville has been running a ton more to set up the pass over the last few weeks controlling the clock. It will change when the WR returns
Just the Flatulence couldn't answer why the RB is #3 int he metro in yards per carry? Simple question. Why is he doing so good? Just bluster about starting qbs and phantom non facts.
LOL @ Joeyblowsfootballers....The RB is #3 in ypg because he's a good back (I wouldn't say that he's the 3rd best rb in the metro though.) He's hung 700 yards & 12 TDs on Ruskin, Ray South and Grandview, so that kind of skews that stats (and is a big reason that he's #3 in YPC.) He should have been the #1 rb heading into last season, and probably should have gotten some carries as a Soph (as he did as a frosh). Playing the other kid ahead of 42 the last two years is another head-scratcher from this staff. Since you rage about the freshman, I don't think Kearney will miss a beat with the kid in that class.
Where did I rage about the Frosh. 350 points scored. 26 given up...20 of them in garbage minutes. Just the Facts Mr. Flatulence.

So Joeyblowsfootballers doesn't think that hanging 700 yards on 3 teams that have combined for a total of 5 wins (3 of those wins from playing each other), is the reason a rb is putting up 167/game?
Since Joeyblows likes numbers, how do you explain this one: the last 4 years, this staff is 1-10 vs the "Highway 92" Rivals. Outscored 59-127 vs PC (with a 2018 win!); Outscored 79-241 vs Smithville (0-7 with another Beatdown looming.)
If getting to .500 by beating up on Ruskin, Ray South & Grandview (and stuffing the stat box) is your idea of football, then Gray & Joeyblows should get a few more years (after all, those freshmen are studs.) Of course those freshmen had better coaching in PW, than what they will get from this staff.

It is disturbing to me that this person comes on here and talks this way! Leads others to believe they are a coach at Kearney and is supposed to be a leader and mentor to young people. There are so many life lessons that young people learn while playing sports and most will never put on a uniform again once high school ends. This is not the way any coach I had acted and I am thankful for that. The district who employees him should get rid of him. There is no place for these comments today and was even in another post calling a high school student names because of their choices in life. This person should be banned from teaching/coaching and this forum!

and now this poster would have us believe that he's not a KHS coach, rather he's a college coach. If he really were a college coach, I'm not sure how he would be able to function in that capacity, as much time as he spends following Kearney freshmen football and track athletes (not to mention time spent raging on here.)
Of course we know the bar is pretty low on the staff - and there are some real issues with the school. The other assistant was arrested for sending pictures of his junk to students....(and he was allowed to return to the building this year, after being led out of the school last spring); the super was arrested for DUI, and allowed to return (then paid nearly $200k to go away.)....time for a complete house cleaning.

This delusional prick is apparently on a witch hunt for a coaching staff...probably because his kid wasn't good enough to play or something. Now he is butt hurt as can be, making homosexual innuendo (god knows what depths of hell that comes from), cutting and pasting his hatred for the staff-and has been for years. And because no one listens to him, he now projects that staff onto me for some reason--and has a delusion that I represent a staff member.
