I haven't seen a lot about class 3 besides the early scuttlebutt about Trinity.
Who are some of the contenders?
District leaders after week 5 by the way the bracket breaks down are
1 Kennett
2 Cardinal Ritter

5 Springfield Catholic
6 Cassville

3 Lutheran St. Charles (Trinity is 2nd they play this week)
4 Moberly

7 Pembroke Hill
8 Maryville.

Thoughts?

Pembroke is probably the 5th best team in D7. they are undefeated with a really weak schedule. a bunch of C2 schools plus Bishop Ward from Kansas. They have some players but won't be prepared when they have to play real C3 teams.

Contenders

Trinity
Odessa
Maryville
Cardinal Ritter
One of the schools out of Big 8.

My brain thinks Trinity wins it all but my gut says Maryville will repeat.

I’ve been keeping my eye on Kennett. I think they’ll make some noise this year.
Other than Valle, Southeast Missouri noise is rarely heard outside of Southeast Missouri.

Very true. Malden made it to state a few years back, I believe. And lost to Lamar of course.

Kennett has the same coach that the Malden team had when they ran the table in SWMO. Pretty damn good coach. Was an assistant to Ary(West Plains coach) for years when they ran the table in the SCA at Grove and before then at Willow Springs

Time will tell. Not saying they’ll even make it to state, but they won’t be an easy out

If Lamar is going to lose, I hope Cassville is the one to beat them. That would take the pressure off from the winning streak. The streak is going to end sometime, I would rather it be a good BIG 8 school that does it. Sometimes it takes a loss to make the wins more enjoyable.

If anything it should be a very enjoyable game and the atmosphere will be electric.

Correction. In SEMO. o_O

If Cassville can stay healthy I think they can bring it home. I think they are going to beat Lamar.
Bullit,
You have peaked my interest. I may have to go see that Lamar-Cassville game. I enjoy watching good footall. I made the mistake of going to Reeds - MV game a couple of weeks ago. The game was close, but level of play was disappointing.

Would like to see it too, but don't like to miss my Cubbies playing either.

Cassville's dismantling of Catholic/Riley at home was pretty impressive, then to see them in person well they are a solid team. But Lamar is solid too, I think it will be a very good game.
