Class 3 Sectional Pairings: All Games Monday at 7:00 PM
Park Hills Central(6-5) at Ste. Genevieve(9-2)
why: Thriller alert, Ste. Genevieve defeated the Rebels 35-28 in the district final. Central may have snuck up on Dexter, this won't be the case tonight. Central must contain senior Dragon QB Brendan Weiler who is completing a stellar career. In the district games turnovers cost the Rebels, if they take care of the football on this rainy night they can advance.
Lutheran North(9-2) vs John Burroughs (10-1) at Gay Field (Clayton H.S.)
why: Early in the season the Burroughs Bombers bombed North 53-16 with Ezekiel Elliott rushing for four touchdowns. North must find a way to load the box and stop Elliott placing the responsibility on QB Davey Holmeso win the football game. North enters on a 5-game winning streak.
Southern Boone(6-5) at North Callaway(7-4)
why: North Callaway earned a 38-32 overtime victory in district play. Expect another thriller between these two very familiar teams.
Boonville(10-1) at Osage(11-0)
why: Osage has won their past three games by a combined score of 132-0 and has held nine opponents to under 8 points this season. The Indian defense will focus it's attention on stopping Wes Davis and the Pirate offense.
Springfield Catholic (9-2) at Logan Rogersville (10-1)
why: In week four of the season Logan Rogersville faced one of their toughest tests of the season defeating Catholic 29-26. Keep an eye on Wildcat Joe ZImmer a key at running back and on defense to their success. For a great breakdown of the first game use the link below.
Pleasant Hill(8-3) at Cassville (11-0)
why: A season ago Cassville earned a 35-0 victory over the Roosters. The Wildcats have defeated their past three opponents 121-0 and show no signs of slowing. QB Ricky Nichols should return for the Wildcats after setting out the regional victory.
Imagine Renaissance (7-4) at O'Hara (8-2)
why: Imagine QB Laron Cummings is outstanding and gives his team the edge in this matchup.
Maryville(10-1) at Richmond (10-1)
why: A season ago Richmond earned a 21-14 victory on the road over Maryville to advance on their road to state. This season the Spartans face the Spoofhounds at home. In what will be a hard fought playoff game, give the Spartans a slight edge due to their playoff experience.
