This will be the 6th time in the last 9years that Fair Grove and Lamar have met up

2016 Lamar 53-0
2017 Lamar 61-0
2019 Lamar 52-25
2021 Lamar 35-7
2022 Lamar 56-6

Lamar obviously has Fair Groves number but this could be the year they get over the hump. I think this will be one of the better games of the weekend with Lamar winning a close one.
It’s also kinda odd two teams that played each other in districts for several years are now on the opposite side of the bracket.

I’m anxious to see how it goes. We’ve seen and heard of the high flying Fair Grove offense many times, with the closest contest being a four possession game. Similar to Mt View all those years, it doesn’t matter how great you pass it if you’ve got multiple D-lineman in the qbs lap.

I expect this to be far closer than in the past, but until proven otherwise my money’s on the team that’s battle tested, and spends all year playing Class 3 & 4 schools.

Tipton is the only Class 2 school Lamar played until districts, correct? I don’t think that’s talked about enough.

Tipton is C1 but decent.
well that checks out then. Pretty sure Lamar scored on each of its first 4 or 5 offensive PLAYS. Not possessions.. I have a strict belief that any team that does a full warmup without shoulder pads on is not to be feared.

Pretty sure that game took over the home/home spot in the schedule Lamar had with Valle a while back. I’m sure folks would freak out, but I’d love to see them work out a “border war” game with Pittsburg, Colgan, Frontenac, or Girard. Closer to them than most all other schools we play. Play them in other sports. Could be a fun tradition.

Tipton was the only Missouri school with an open date and Tipton agreed to play. Up to that point it was looking like Coweta Oklahoma was going to fill the open date.

I mean, someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe FG played one Class 2 school(maybe 2) and all the rest were Class 3 or above until districts started. 🤷🏽‍♂️ they may not have been the caliber of the Big 8 but they weren’t beating up on tiny schools either.

2 Class 2- Clever and Spring. Catholic. 6 Class 3 and one Class 5.

That would be the Class 5 team. Catholic is 2
im not sure there are 10 teams at any level worse than Central.

That doesn't really count as a class 5 win. Fact is teams use central to pump their MSHSAA number for district seeding.
