Being more of a class 1 guy myself, it appears that the NE and SE region will likely have new representatives in Springfield for the Final Four. Nw and SW missouri will see if the returning qualifiers can get out of their corner.

I know it's summer ball, (everything with a grain of salt) but are there any up and comers?

In the SE is Scott Central the top dog? Anyone see them play? Anyone else going to enter the picture? Will Eminence challenge? Bradleyville?

In NEMO is Meadville the new king? Is St. Elizabeth going to make a rise or will someone else emerge from Central Missouri? Will Linn County make a claim? Chamois?

In SW will Defending Champ Walnut Grove run the table and cruise back to Springfield? Does Greenfield have some pieces left? Will Wheatland or Lakeland break through?

In NWMO North Andrew returns a lot, but so does fellow quarterfinalist Worth County, with Winston, St. Joseph Christian, South Holt, and Jefferson right there as well.

Anyone seen these teams or found a favorite in the wide open SE or NE? Anyone else in the conversation or should be showing up on radar?

I believe SCC lost a lot, but it's hard telling who they'll bring in. Heard good things about Eminence. Walnut Grove will likely head back to Springfield. NWMO will be tough.

I'm not sure how much you want to read into this but yesterday at Northwest team basketball camp, Meadville was beaten by Jefferson by 15.

?

North Andrew doesn't just return a lot, they return the entire starting line up. Worth County was good, but they were not at North Andrew's level (even though they did make it to the QF's). SJC loses too much. I don't expect them to challenge for state, but may be able to surprise some teams. I think the others are about the level of Worth County except maybe Winston being the one with the best shot at North Andrew.

Greenfield will be good again, but not quite as good I think. They had a good summer with some young guys feeling into some roles. Still have the Wright kid (All State) and White (All-District, Conf) but will have to replace some solid seniors.

Dora will be very good, coach's triplets will be freshman along with some other talented freshmen and senior class with lots of varsity experience

St. Joseph Christian went out and recruited several players. They will be good.

Let me mention that Jamestown is a team that you should pay attention to. They won 18 games last year and also won their conference. Return all 5 starters, have some size, athletic and can shoot . Keep an eye on the Eagles they could make some noise in 1A.

Thoughts on how they'll fare in their district? Glasgow is always tough and I saw St. Elizabeth beat them in districts last year.

The district should come down to Jamestown & St E, Glascow is well coached but lost most of their team from last year. St. E has to deal w/ a new coach & loss of key starter that was brother to coach from last year and left school.

So Jamestown is in the NE quarter then?

With the St. Elizabeth Shakeup, I'll stick with Meadville at the top until they are unseated.

The St.Elizabeth coach is a former Rick Mills assistant and they should be good. You will see a lot of Mill's coaching style there.
