Class 1 District 4

Why does class 1 just have 4 districts. Seems like the small towns whining about everyone getting a trophy are watering down their own class. I’d rather watch 8 man then what class uno had become

Huh? MSHSAA is at fault. If they listened to the people who you are referring to? They’d have 2 private classes, and public’s wouldn’t face private schools in districts and beyond.

MSHSAAs stupidity knows no bounds.

Great question.

They sure took care of class 6 with 8 districts.

But nah. Let's have Class 1 first round district games up to 5 hours away. I mean those small schools have the budget for it, right?

Out of touch.

Son, MSHSAA wouldn’t have changed things if the tiniest of schools wouldn’t have complained.

Ok think what you want. I’m trying to stick to factual known info. You have none, just assumptions. Let me know when you have anything of the like. Son. Lmao

Hey shoe shine boy, what is the latest update on Osceola and Sante Fe?

class 6 got 8 districts of about 5 teams.

Class 1? Sorry. 9 teams and there will be 8+ hour bus trips.

Out of touch.
I was referring to the comment that the new size of Class 1 watered it down... I mentioned that Class 6 is very much like that and has been. so if there is rural entitlement then it works the other way as well.

Yea class 1 is a mess

Bet theres a someone with MSHSAA pull that got their school into a really good situation in class 1.

Class 5 and 6 has always been babied.

All the classes from 5 to 1, need the number of districts doubled. 16 districts in 2 through 5, 8 in Class 1. 3 to 4 teams each district in 2 through 5. 4 or 5 teams each district in Class 1. Same winners bracket formula as now.

This isn't confusing.

305 total 11 man schools?

305/6=50.83333 repeating.

voila.

8 districts with 6 or 7 teams per.

You're welcome.

Shoeshine boy, no more comments about any Classes other than 8-man and Class 1. Talk about babied...the trouble we all go to to keep up with your little schools? Just be glad we don't just cut 8-man out and make it go the way of the homeschoolers...have your own little championship and leave MSHSAA out of it.

lotta people big mad over some retired superintendents in Columbia turning the screws to teams.
Maybe we should think about a success multiplier for all schools.

Yes, when there is open enrollment and no boundary limit for the publics like there is for privates. Until then, we can keep using multipliers on the privates.

I can’t help but think the St Louie MSHSAA mafia was like “Oh yeah we can fix class six for you. Let’s see how they like our class one adjustment. Evil laugh.”

The idea that money/budget issues is holding any of these small schools back from traveling is a farce. Plus these are kids we’re talking about.. they probably want out of school early anyway.

If you look back through the C1 brackets over the years there have been matchups of 2.5 & 3+ hour matchups from the District Final round on. With the reduction in class size they’re effectively starting at the District Semi Final round. 1 more round with possibility of extended travel isn’t gonna put the squeeze on any program
