Just wondering how many small schools in Class 1 have been split up going to different districts. Class1 Walnut Grove boys are in District 5 and Class 1 Walnut Grove girls are put into District 4. If both teams advance they will be going in different directions in the state tournament. Not saying that they will but I think the state isn’t thinking this through for small communities.

Miller is the same way. Boys district 12 and girls district 13. There are some school in different classes as well. Liberal girls are class 1 and Liberal boys are class 2. Just the way it happens. It really would not matter till the state Quarterfinals when the boys and girls would play around the same time at different locations. Sectionals and even the district championship games are on different days. The boys play district championship games on Friday and the Girls play on Saturday. Same thing for sectionals.

Quite of few schools split to different Districts. Heck, Forsyth boys and girls are in different Classes. And since they are Classes 3 and 4. they even have different weeks for Districts.

I think they are well aware of this... It just doesn't matter to them at all.
Why would it? Who cares if the boys and girls play at different locations on different days. I'm sure in the rare case a school has both teams in the Quarterfinals they would let them adjust the game time so fans could go to both.

Thanks for the reply. I wasn’t aware that there were that many schools that they had split and it was going to take a lot of time to go through all of the districts boys and girls to investigate it. It might be a way to keep the Miller and Walnut Grove girls from getting to another Final 4 just my opinion and kind of a joke. But is it????

The Quarterfinals aren't even on the same day this year. Class 1-3 boys is Friday, Mar 3, Girls is Saturday, Mar 4. In my part of the state all those games are at Moberly JUCO.

Californias is the same way. It is good for the game. People were mad last that some girls districts last had 1 or 2 teams in it in the boothill area. With the private schools moving up in the sports, it throws off districts a little as well. Add in a shortage of refs and it is a no win situation.

I did not notice that. I just saw the times and assumed they were on Saturday. I do find it odd that a class 1 boys Quarterfinal Game is at 4:00 on a Friday afternoon. I saw that there are multiple games at the same locations as well. Class 1 and Class 2 have boys Quarterfinals games at the same location that night.

I was more upset about Miller having to go North in District 13. The Quad districts in SWMO 9-12 are not near as strong as they have been in the past. I know Districts 11 and 12 Miller has beat the 1 seed by at least 20. Miller is young and starts 3 freshman so they could easily get beat in districts, but i would of liked to stay in SWMO. If they did Manage to win Districts their Sectionals are in Harrisonville and the Quarters are in St. Joe. That's a long way from playing in Carthage and Willard like the other SWMO teams get to play.

The Final 4 is a SWMO home game.

Poplar Bluff boys class 6 district will be at Kirkwood, the girls will be at Fox.
Unless they make this rotation instead of coaches/AD's voting on who hosts P.B and Jackson will never get to host again, the St.Louis area schools will always vote to keep it up there somewhere.

More money for MSHSAA… If schools have both boys and girls teams making it that far then people have to pay 2 different times to get in. 🤷‍♂️

Class 5: KC Ruskin driving to Webb City to play Carl Junction girls. In the meantime, Carl Junction boys driving to Belton to play Webb City.

Definitely weird scheduling this year, but in a way credit to MSHSAA for shaking it up and trying something different for a change.

The SEMO class 1 situation really messes up the rest of the state.
They did the right thing in the instance. It's not like girls and boys play on the same nights (outside the title games).

The 1st several years of girl's basketball. The games were not only played at different places but different dates like 2 weeks apart. Their were several reasons for that.
