I wouldnt be suprised if its a good game ......cj is better than you guys are giving them credit for. Idc if lamar is class 2 .....that cant be considered a bad loss. I was at that game and when cj ran the ball they moved the ball just fine. Scored with ease their first two drives then decided to throw the ball every play. It was baffling to watch
That being said they couldnt stop lamar at all but the game could have came down to the wire if cj didnt get impatient and start throwing incomplete passes everywhere
Hitch. You say Cj is better than you guys give them credit for? My post says calpreps says... not me. I was asking for thoughts. My feeling is CJ will play like it's there last game of the season. Which it will be. But they will give it everything they have.
I dont think webb city will lose by any means but to say that it wont be within 21 points is bold .Might happen but cj might keep it tight. Id bet my house webb wins but id never guarentee a minimum 21 point win against a solid team like that
That is cal preps pick. Not mine. If Webb comes out firing on all cylinders it could get ugly but if Cj starts quick and gets some confidence early theyay hang around and keep it close. My prediction is webb 45-21.
CJ's offense could come up with some plays. The problem is stopping Webb. The Cardinals might score on every drive in this game.
Agree totally. CJ had success early as well running crossing routes and got away from running the ball. Once Lamar adjusted and took away that route, even had a pick 6 and CJ kept trying to make the difficult throw across the field and got away from the run that was working.
Lamar had minimal success between the tackles until later in the game but CJ failed time and again keep Lamar, Embree in particular from getting the corner. On the few occasions that Lamar threw the ball CJ was out of position and was burned.
WC might defend CJ similarly to how Lamar did but WC's offense begins with between the tackles. CJ is going to have to tackle a lot better than they did against Lamar to have a shot but I do expect their offense won't be as out of sorts so I think they might have some success there. WC has had pretty good success defending against the spread so I expect they will be ready.
Running games between WC and Lamar are different. The constant misdirection Lamar does, does not allow them to hit the hole with much momentum. Many times they stopped or studer stepped at the line of scrimmage. The times they ran straight power, like inside the 10 they had some success. WC runs straight ahead angerly.

This years D isnt getting much cred and I will agree although not one that I go "O M G" when I see them play they are still pretty darn good. They have only gave up 114 points through 10 games. Considering ROCK put up 20 and HarBer 26 that aint to shabby. Personaly I would be very suprised if CJ could muster up 21. Pretty sure they were undefeated last year, beat Lamar and won the Big 8 and then got hammered 42-12. What after getting beat by Lamar this year by 22 says "we can keep it close with WEBB"? The 77-13 drubbing of 2-6 Marshfield last week? Its a Football board, being politically correct isnt a prereq to post, WEBB CITY 48-13...
Sure, whats your point? They lost to 10-0 WEBB 49-20, 7-1 Bentonville 24-13, 7-1 HarBer 49-21, 10-0 BSS 37-27, 9-1 Jeff City 55-20, and finally a 24-21 loss to 6-4 Ray Pec. Please tell me who CJ has played comparable to ANY of these teams? I mean that is your point right? ROCK was bad and put up that many LOL..........
I reread this and thought to myself andposters are saying Helias played a tough schedule or that the ROCK wasnt any good this year. WOW, ROCK and yes I know they are Class 6 but regardless that is a tough schedule........
Rock schedule is crazy tough but it always has been. Someone said it'd been 50 years since the last losing season. If that's true that shows just how solid a program thst 's been. But they are 22-12 the last 3 yrs not what we are used to seeing.
As for WC vs CJ man CJ will have to play real good to keep it clse . Wasn't Lamar up something like 35-7 before half.

Totally agree. Point was mostly that while WC does have big plays when an assignment is blown or a tackle missed WC's offense at the end of the day is about execution and besting teams 5-6 yards at a time.
Rockhurst isn't getting the same amount of talent that they have in the past. More kids are staying and playing at their public schools because it is getting more and more even in the recruiting game. No, Rock isn't actually the only one recruiting. It's shocking, I know. Take it for what it's worth, but talking to coaches in the area, they say that the field has leveled out in recruiting and just in kids deciding on their own, to stay and play in their own school district, mainly because of how nice the facilities are compared to Rock. Rock is no longer the far and away nicest set up.
They are still getting some obviously, case in point, Rock's RB is a stud and will do real well at Wisconsin.

Honestly if CJ had kept running the ball against Lamar the game would have been way closer. They were finding success with that but good Ol' Buckmaster isn't much for patient grind it out drives. He wants to score fast and flashy. Then once they got down they pretty much threw the ball every play. I also don't think I ever saw CJ's quarterback not throw to his first read. He tried to get the ball out of his hands as fast as possible without actually looking to see if the coverage was there or not. I don't see how CJ keeps it close.
CJ keeps it close because JRod wont run it up on them . As soon as clock is running in the third qtr he will call off the "Dogs"
The biting of his visor is good, but when he rips it off his head and spikes it on the ground, that's the classic move!!! Combine it with a clipboard/play sheet toss and you have Academy award winning material
Webb calls off dogs once they are 21 points or more ahead. It is classless to constantly claim to have a team that can beat the premier team in High School football. Just put your pads on and go play. I feel sorry for the kids who have to deal with this caliber of fan base.

I'm a CJ fan this week.... But that's only because I think this board would lose its mind if the upset happens lol
Interesting dialogue while recording this weeks podcast. Guest posed the question is CJ, after the loss have less pressure less expectations on them and ultimately play loose and challenge WC?
Uh, isn't this the case with 98% of the teams WC plays?
Oklahoma Texas comparison is not a very good one considering Texas has great athletes on their team probably as good or better than Oklahoma.
CJ does not have the same athletes on the field as webb nor that history. I absolutely think CJ will play very loose I mean nobody expects them to win or even compete for that matter so they will play loose.
