For people not in the Springfield area, why does a guy give up the Kickapoo job for Chadwick 2 years later?

Radio interview said yes, for at least a year. And then maybe retire and still coach.

In short, from my understanding, he thought he was going to get the Nixa girls job.

In an article with the Christian County Headliner Pendegrass said the move to Nixa was due to their Drivers Ed program, apparently Pendegrass has a Driver Education business. Rumor has it that last year Perryman told Pendegrass that she might be leaving in a year or so and that he would then become the girls head coach at Nixa. Apparently that was set to happen but a couple of familys complained to the school board and Pendegrass did not get the head coaching job.

The best part is that those same parents were pissed all year because things didn’t go their way.
