Strength of Schedule

SMU-77
Boise-81

And we are supposed to believe that their records would be better than Bama, Ole Miss, Mizzou, South Carolina, or Texas A&M playing their schedules? Come on man.

This ain’t the NFL. You can’t just compare records.

At some point the big 2 will break away from the ncaa. If so ...hoping it's an 8+8 playoff.

MY GEORGIA BULLDOGS ARE SEC CHAMPIONS!!! Will be 3 1/2 weeks till we play again. Way to take the Longhorns down again. Gunner Stockton looked a little like Stetson Bennett today. Loved how our Oline blew the hole open on that last play even though everyone knew we were running the ball. GO DAWGS!!!

Go ahead and look now. Oregon is up 28-10 with 10 minutes left in the 2nd qtr
….won’t be 4th after tonight the way this game is going for them!!! Sorry!!!
Sure, MY PENN STATE NITTANY LIONS did NOT win the Big Ten championship game. But we PROVED that we can HANG with the NUMBER ONE team in the NATION!!! So I LIKE our chances in the playoffs! Regardless, the Big Ten's reign still supreme!!

My question is this... How in the world is Clemson in? They lost the title game. They lost to Georgia (did not even compete) and South Carolina. If Bama is the first team to be out, they beat both Georgia and South Carolina.

They won the ACC title game. I don't think there should be auto bids for conference champs for this reason alone and there sure as hell shouldn't be byes for 4 of the top 5 conference champs.

Speak for yourself this gave my longhorns 2 Appalachian state games before the semi finals. It's working great lmao

I won't say that these teams can't win it all because anything can happen, but there has to be a change. Idk any perfect scenario, but I wish they would block off a couple weeks in the regular season for P4 conference schools to play. Say week 3 and week 8 every year or something where we can get a feeling of how each conference stacks up against one another.

Seems like now playing a good team from another conf is only really going to hurt you.

True but Arizona state???

I agree something different. I think we should have 7 week regular season and then a 128 team bracket with the bottom 12 can play for last 6 places on Tuesday. That makes a 14 week season total. Could go to 15 weeks and add a bye in regular season.

True, but I think that is going to be the only way to have a legitimate argument from a 3 loss team. Or even a 2 loss Miami. We are going to get to the point where there will be no quality out of conference games. I hate watching MU vs SEMO or Bama vs Mercer. I would much rather watch Bama vs Ohio St week 8. I don't think we should reward teams for playing a weak schedule.

except that's just what happened.

Nobody in their right minds thinks SMU is better than Bama.

Big 10 and SEC should separate, expand to 28 each, and go to 4 7 team divisions each. Scheduling is easy then. You play your 6 division games, 5 games against teams in your conference and 1 game against a team from the other conference.

16 team play off 8 division Champs and 8 wildcards.

What if Mizzou had beaten South Carolina, that would have been a more interesting debate than the Alabama one.

I think that is what we will see down the road. The top 32 or 48 type teams leave the NCAA and form their own NFL style league. Go to divisions, play division games and then a few cross overgames, take the top 12 or 16 to a playoff and play it down from there. With the NIL and money that is now involved, the schools really don't need the NCAA IMO.

All I wanted to see was the Colorado vs Mizzou in a bowl game!!!! Instead we get stuck with a boring Iowa game.

I would love to see 18 team play-off. ACC, Big 10, SEC and Big 12 all have 2 divisions. Winner of each gets an automatic bid. No championship game needed. (conference champ can be best record). American, Conference USA, Mt West, Sunbelt and MAC all have 2 divisions, play a conference championship game for automatic bid. That has it at:
ACC- 2 auto, Big 10- 2 auto, SEC- 2 auto, Big 12- 2 auto, American, Conference USA, Mt West, Sunbelt and MAC each get 1 (5 automatics). That leaves 13 automatics and then 5 at-large bids.
Bracket would be split like NFL. seeded 1-9 in each bracket. WInner of each bracket play for championship.

I agree there should definitely be automatic bids for conference champions because you can only play who is on your schedule. This nonsense about an automatic bye causing Penn State to have the easiest road by far is just silly...
