Centrist Democrat

Castro has made some solid points, admittedly I haven't paid as much attention since the 2nd debate, but I remember a lot of what he said made a lot of sense.

I also don't remember him playing the Hispanic card, although that doesn't mean he hasn't.
If he has played the Hispanic card, it hasn't been much. I believe he talked about the border and the laws. He made Beto look bad in one of them.
Castro really should be doing a LOT better than he is. He really would be more of a mainstream Democrat who moderates could at least agree with 50% of the time. As opposed to the super left of the party that is ignoring the moderates.
He also is not prone to the gaffes Biden is.
It's really a shame to not see him doing better in this party. He is what the Democrats need even though they don't realize it.

Totally agree.

I watch interviews. He has. He has 0%.
All of them play the identity politics game. Even, Yang. That surprised me.

Yang's is way more tongue in cheek than the others. Or at least appears that way.
Yang claims we are close to an episode where (group A) is attacking Asians on some ridiculous reason I don't remember.
Cory Booker sends me emails saying the Dem stage is not diverse and therefore he is my candidate.
BTW, if Michelle Obama entered the race, she'd crush them all by 40points.

Yang has talked about how Asians are discriminated against by higher education because of Affirmative Action. Affirmative action has barred Asians from access to Ivy League universities because they do too well in school, testing, and extracurriculars.

He's not wrong.

No doubt. Plus they outwork everyone!
You think Julian Castro, the great defender of abortion rights for men makes solid points?

Admittedly I'd have to go back and re-watch the first two debates, but yeah what he was selling (at that time) was far more palatable than the rest of the field.

1. Well the "disarming hate" and then making the assumption that ONLY white people are the ones who discriminate is a bit jarring. Almost prejudicial, but whatever.

2. His immigration policy of "putting people first" is just left wing rhetoric for open borders.

3. Housing isn't a human right, nor should it be under the purview of the federal government.

4. I'm anti-abortion so that will become a sticking point.

5. I think lowering the voting age to 17 is a terrible idea, the voting age should be raised to 21 at the very least.

6. I'm not in favor of abolishing the electoral college. It ensures representation of every state and the voters of every state.

7. Healthcare isnt a human right. It's a service and/or a commodity.

8. Raising the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour won't accomplish anything but raising the cost of everything else. It's like Democrats have never heard of inflation. Furthermore, there should be no wage standards for private businesses.

9. There is no wage gap and the federal government should have no say in what private businesses pay their employees.

10. Unions for All? No thanks.

I am in favor of:

1. Making election day a federal holiday.

2. Restoring voting rights to people who have served their prison sentence.

3. Ending the distinction between physical and mental health and require all insurance plans and publicly-run programs to cover mental healthcare

4. Lower prescription drug costs

5. Reform intellectual property laws to promote generic drugs

6. Allow the import of drugs from countries that meet strong consumer protection and safety standards

7. Expand reliable, high-speed internet access in rural communities to enable telemedicine and reform health care policies to improve reimbursement for telemedicine services, although I'd rather see it done by private business than having the government do it.

8. Reform our immigration system to allow foreign-born physicians to more easily practice in the United States, prioritizing underserved communities

9. Provide grants through Medicare to teaching hospitals and medical schools to establish urban-rural rotation programs to expand healthcare capacity in rural communities, provide practical learning experience in these communities, and establish relationships with local health providers for future employment.

First, thank you for the question. I want to apologize because it's nice to be asked. I'm trying to read this but it's going to burn my eyes out, and I might as well burst into flames.
This is like looking into the mind of the character Collin Farrell (Bobbi Pellit) in the movie "Horrible Bosses". He's a version of a cynical brainwashed leftist ideologue that should never go near power. He's appalling in every regard. I can't take it.

You tell me, what's the difference between state and federal government?

Is one bigger in scope than the other?
What difference does that make? If it's the best way to elect our leaders all elections should be done that way.

Why does it matter to you then? If you don’t think the president makes the laws we live by, then why do you care how he or she gets elected?
Apparently YOU don' know who makes the laws we live by. All the president gets to do is sign or veto what they send to his desk.

I'm done spoon feeding you, let's see if Mr. "Doesn't know anything" can figure it out for himself?

He refuses to accept anything not spoken by CNN.

So says people refusing to accept anything not spoken by FOX. You people need to look at both sides when you say things like that. Talking about some liberal lying is the best example.

If you can't find anything you like from him, then you are so far lost it's sad.

I don't agree with those, but I respect them and your right to believe those things. You didn't list anything unreasonable. I don't agree.
Voting age, I understand, and I know it's more government, but I would like to see us do what Australia (I think) does. They fine people who don't vote. They have a super high percentage of voters. It makes us look terrible.

Fair enough brother.

We don't have to agree, but respectful disagreement and discourse goes a long way.

Thank you for the extension of respect.

If you can't find anything you like from him, then you are so far lost it's sad.
I'm not alone he sucks. The fact is that no Democrats will vote for him in the primary. Hopefully he will drop out after Iowa. Bloomberg is out polling Castro.
All but 1 Dem contender are crazy radicals. Butt is hiding his terrible ideas to appear moderate. This is the weakest field in like forever. Basically a dead man is leading.
Quid Pro Joe will win. He can beat Trump..

Dude you don't have to feed me anything. IF the EC is there because voters are too stupid to know how and who they want to vote for why should we elect people to represent us in DC without the same help from the 'much more intelligent' people in the EC? Same for our leaders in the state? How can we possibly be smart enough to get that right either?

No, you literally have to have pictures drawn for you in order for you to understand anything, and then you'll still play dumb, because you'd rather appear stupid than wrong.

The only picture I need to see is when a few hundred people I've never even heard of don't get to decide the election over the votes of the millions that voted on election day or by absentee ballot.
