Sups of the Bootheel Athletic Conference voted Monday to suspend Caruthersville out of the conference for the remainder of the year. Decision was made because of an incident.
Did they hold a school dance or something?
You're starting to pick up on the Southern Baptist nuances here JoeyDid they hold a school dance or something?

I’ve also heard something about a cville player flipping off the opposing crowd and making other obscene gestures I believeApparently an incident after a game between south Pemiscot and cville The incident occurred in Gideon. Supposedly between alumni. Cville community feels the student athletes should not be penalized since they were not directly involved … on a bus home. They also think it is a vendetta against them to remove them from the conference because of their success. Affects all sports and student athletes the rest of the school year. All the underhanded off the wall comments of posters trying to be funny failed miserably!!! Not good for inter scholastic sports in my humble professional opinion! Sorry!!!!

Well I’ve seen a couple of news articles about it over the last day or two. That’s just what they said. So it’s third hand information at this point so who knows.I bet they cursed during the games too.
This is all I can find.

I watched the feeds from the tournament. Didn't see any fights. I wonder what it is about.
The bootheel is a very interesting area in terms of racial diversity. Rural towns that are almost all white and towns that are almost all black.
Excuse me? If Caruthersville had hired me to be their booster club president, NONE of this would be happening. A little holiday money can really have an affect on people when situations like this happen. It does sound like their current booster club president needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, I am retired. So I cant help themWord on the street is they hired Bosko as booster club president.
Cut the bootheel off, give it Arkansas, and double the average IQ in both states.
Ehhhhh. I would think Memphis would be a more likely culprit in the hypothetical scenario you just mentioned.Based on what I've learned on this board this type of issue is very uncommon in small communities like these. I'm thinking that perhaps some STL residents must have borne out from the wretched hellish existence within the city and wrought their willful social destruction and anarchical tendencies upon the unsuspecting communities of the Bootheel Athletic Conference.
