Carthage 41 Willard 30 - Final

Sounds like kind of a weird game. On one hand it seems like they are fortunate to be within one. But then again they could just as likely be leading Willard by two scores.

Had to have been a frustrating loss for Willard. They appeared to be moving the ball at will as Carthage seemed totally powerless to stop them. Carthage did a good job holding together after an untimely fumble gave Willard a golden ticket back into the game.

So far, with the exception of a beating at the hands of WC, Willard appears to be a much improved team and a tough out for their opponents. They have only lost by an avg of 6 points in each game if you take away the WC blowout.

I wouldnt necessarily say improved, to me that infers that they havent been successful. Willard has gone 8-3, 9-2, and 5-5 the last few years. Always big and physical. Its just that this years team has a lot of new faces....and yes with the exception of the WC loss they have been tough night in and night out.

Willard is very big up front but there are VERY much missing that RB (Yeardon?) that had been there like the last 3 years. With a little more speed in backfield Willard would probably be 4-1 right now.
