He may have "the stuff", all the measurables and some nice stats. But they dont measure what is between the ears. I miss Cris Carpenter so bad.

He really seemed to be coming around and maturing last year. He's definitely regressed this year. Add him to the big, heaping pile of disappointment on this year's team...

Cris Carpenter would be called a "bully" on this team. He is too uptight and not "loose" enough to win ballgames..... Carp at the top of his game was the most fun to watch for me because the man just kicked arse and took names!!! He didn't put up with BS and was passionate!! Let a little fire show and better yet, some of these youngsters need a little fire lit under their rears! A Carp reference makes me grin but I am still a little irritated with the sweep from the Cubs.

Gotta keep the ball in the park. Carlos has to get back down to 15 HR a year.
You keep talking about the number of HR's a pitcher gave up in the last few years. Have you not been paying attention to the way balls are flying out of major league parks this season? A guy that gave up 15 a year ago could easily give up 25 or 30 this season and be because he forgot how to pitch. The ball is juiced and there should be NO argument about that! Greg Garcia hit a very long HR this season, that should tell you all you need to know about the ball. It's been said that guys like McGwire and Bonds should have an asterisk on their HR records because they were juiced up. How about what MLB has done to the ball so guys can hit more HRS so they put more butts in the seats?!!!
