Carl Junction #1 in Class 4?

With Cristy at QB, he will be the best QB in the COC eazily

CJ will be hard to beat this year
Won't matter who their QB is.....not sure that they have named a QB for next year. He did not get much practice last year at that spot. Defense for Webb is almost all back. Going to be harder to score on them. But, WC needs to figure out QB situation.
Stamp it......and Seal it!!!!!!

Cj looks devestating this year. Defense already has a name. Swarm.

Webb City will go 6-4?

Sign it. Seal it. Stamp it. Send it on home to Momma

Webb is pretty obvious 2017 pre-season #1. The other spots are really up for grabs between Carl, HVille, Hannibal, Ladue, Kearney (new HC makes them more of a wildcard than ever) and maybe Helias Catholic.

Hello! I'm new to the board.
No offense to anyone, but Cristy at QB? What about Kennedy? I didn't realize Cristy was the best QB on the team much less COC. Not to mention incoming freshman QB Baker has a strong arm.

Harrisonville #1 until someone proves otherwise. Lost a few, but have some pretty big contributors coming back. RB #7, very good young QB, WR, two DE's. I believe they return 6 on offense and 6 on defense. Also have a very good running back that got hurt, and another that transferred last year and sat out the year.

I would agree that Harrisonville is #1 until proven otherwise with WC returning all but 2 consistent starters on D will be hard to score on. WC needs a couple of linemen to step up with as we all know a QB.

There defense will not come close to WC. You can't lose most LBs and DBs and still be dominant. WC defense was better last year and returns most.

Flint, you can take that to the bank.

CJ is a question mark to be in the top half of the COC at this point. I expect Webb to be anywhere from 7-2 to 9-0. The potential losses will be predicated on the quarterback situation. That D is solid and will likely be the best in all of Class 4

NOW!! Did we hear all the talk about CJ being the best in the COC before they even played a game? They lost to 3 COC schools? BUT, they did better then I thought they would. I'll give them correct. BUT, Play for a while , then talk all that. How many outright BIG 8 titles did they win? But I think they shared the COC title right?

I was about to say Webb and a few others would have a shot..... But, if the CJ defense already has a name.... that will pretty well decide it.. Send them the trophy now.

Maybe top 10. They were not even in the final 8 teams playing last year and their defense looses good players.

I think it's funny that anyone takes Flint's bait. But this time of year there isn't a lot of talk about either.

Next year might be just a much of unknown as last year, maybe more. It seems very reasonable that WC will be improved, maybe the team to beat again. I don't know enough about the CJ team to make a prediction. Haven't heard anything about Carthage and what they may having coming up the ranks. Ozark was much improved last year.

Statistically, Webb City, Nixa and Carthage have been the most consistently good over the past several years. CJ has been good in the short term.

I forgot Platte County, oops. If they can get it together defensively the Pirates have a shot as well even with Mitchell graduating this spring.

As Dr. Phil says, "past behavior is the best predictor of FUTURE behavior."
And the same teams that ranked the best over the past five years will be the teams to beat:

1. Webb. 67-6. 32-3 versus Class 4 teams. Reloaded.
2. Kearney 56-11 35-5 versus Class 4. Top four the past four years in C5 and C4. New coach wildcard. But don't think they won't be top 6.
3. Harrisonville. 52-13. 40-11 versus C4 teams. Obviously can ball.
4. CJ 42-15 11-8 v. C4 teams. Ready to move up with the big boys above?
5. Helius 44-22 But 26-9 against C4 teams. Been there, done that...consistent top 4.

Then comes the Parkways, Cape, Ladue, Platte County, Smithville...

CJ 10-0 last four years against class 4 teams except for Webb City. Has fared well against class 5 teams the past 3 seasons (better than .700), losing once each to Ozark and Carthage but also has wins over Carthage, Willard, Republic, Nixa, Neosho, and Central.

In the past five years: Two Losses to C2 Lamar. A loss to C2 Seneca. Six losses to WC. Losses to Monett, Hillcrest, Cassville.

Last year Bucky said they were contenders not pretenders. He really should wait till they win a big game to be talking crap

CJ v. Webb. Kind of looks exactly like the Platte City v. Kearney list...

  2. 8/19/2016 23-7 (W)
  3. 10/30/2015 14-7 (L)
  4. 11/7/2014 42-12 (L)
  5. 11/11/2013 48-20 (L)
  6. 8/30/2013 52-29 (L)
  7. 8/24/2012 44-3 (L)
  8. 10/27/2011 48-7 (L)
  9. 10/27/2010 55-0 (L)
  10. 10/30/2009 54-0 (L)
  11. 10/31/2008 40-14 (L)
  12. 11/1/2007 28-6 (L)
  13. 11/2/2006 47-12 (L)

I'm sorry to ask but did you really just include wins against Springfield Central in that list of quality wins? No offense to that program but I don't think they would say they are ready to be on that list of teams.
Quality wins? Can't defend my post if you want to add terms I didn't use.

If you want to go back five years ago, why not six? At CJ, all of our kids that played five years ago have moved on and won't factor in to the 2017 record. But thanks anyway for meaningless data.

So playing a powerhouse program in the district finals that you've already beat earlier in the season doesn't put you in contention? The district final was tied at the half.

Don't you realize that Webbies think that win was a fluke due to the turnovers, and therefore we get no credit for that? Our defense did not contribute to the turnovers at all. This is Webb's district and we will get no credit till we win as many district and state championships as they have.

Meaningless...the trend is the same...losing to WC...won't change. Maybe in a game where they throw one pick and fumble the ball six times? Beat the best teams in C2 before we start posting "#1 in Class 4."

You don't have to be a Webbie to see that a 7 turnover game is a fluke. The November 4, 27-6 win by Webb provided all the evidence to prove it was a fluke.
