Despite winning two fewer games in a crappy division, according to MLB network geniuses, the Giants have better starting pitching, better relievers, better hitters, and a better manager. We got no shot.

Better starting pitching? As it currently stands, they probably do. Waino's "cranky" elbow is the river card here.

Better relievers? Yep. Both bullpens are solid. But I think their lefties are better. Casilla has been lights out since becoming the closer. Romo has regained what he lost since being bounced from his closer role. Neshek seems better as of late, especially his location. Rosie still has a WHIP of almost 1.5. If he doesn't blow at least one save in this series I'll be shocked. He is just all over the place. CMart has been REALLY good lately, but probably won't get much action as the "backup" closer. But when you look at the Dodgers and Nats and Pirates, these two bullpens are really, really good.

Better hitters? I really don't think so. If Pagan and Morse are healthy, then maybe. That certainly would strengthen their bench. They have the best hitter, in Posey. MCarp is obviously the better table setter. Really, really similar linueps though.

Better manager? I really don't need to answer that.

All said, I really think these two teams are EXTREMELY similar. Both rely on very good pitching and solid defense. The Giants are probably better defensively as well, but not by much. What's all that mean? A timely hit or two, or a BB or two by a closer/reliever could very well be the difference in the series.

The Dodgers appeared to be better on paper and we saw what happened with that. I agree with Eagles about the teams being pretty even. I like the Cardinals in the Underdog Role. They seem to fare pretty well....2006, 2011.... I agree that they have a more experienced manager. Better....I'm not so sure. It's hard to argue with 3 NLCS appearances in your 3 years as a manager.

Pay attention to the actual decisions, and not the end result. Would Matheny be so highly thought of (I don't think he really is nationally though) if he were with the Rockies? Or D-backs? If you want to give credit, give it to the front office personnel. Giving it to a dude that sends Pete Kozma up to PH, in a key spot in a playoff series...Idk about that. But, comparative to Donny Baseball...he's a friggn' genius. And just ask KC fans about Yost.

What's it going to take for MM to get some credit Eagles? Maybe batting the 8th??

Hush your mouth! No fear of that happening with him. It's not part of the "Managing Baseball 101" book he keeps on his nightstand.

Whatever book he's using he may want to publish and sell it. Has any other manager went to the playoffs his first 3 years? You can say the Cards were loaded but there's only a handful of players that were on TLR's last WS team that's still here. That's none of the starting pitchers and only Yadi, Holliday and Jay from the lineup. How many folks on here complain about Holliday and Jay? Lol. If anyone could do it why haven't more done so? Yeah he makes some head scratching moves that we all question sometimes. It's baseball. Did no one ever question TLR or Sparky or any of the other HOF skippers? As Bernie said in an article this week, all the guy does is win. He has the 3rd most Ws in all baseball the last 3 years. He has the most post season wins of any team in baseball. He's in unprecedented waters. Someday maybe he'll get a little of the credit he deserves.

Eags don't like MM, but a win in this series might bring him over to the dark side with us!
