Class 5, No. 5 Raytown South (10-4 in 2009)

The Cardinals have put together a pair of back-to-back
outstanding seasons resulting in a trip to the Show-Me Bowl in 2008, and a 10-4
semifinal season in 2009. David Allie's Cardinals must do a bit of
rebuilding this season as they return just a handful of starters.

"The Cardinals again lose a quality senior class", commented Allie.
"With only 5 returning starters on either side of the ball, there will
be a definite youth movement at Raytown South. However, what they will
lack in experience they will make up in talent and hope that by the time
they get to conference and district games, they will be ready to play at
a championship level."

On offense Dennis Turner(5-11 170) returns as a
big-play wide receiver. Newcomers Jamir Adair(5-8 180) RB, senior
quarterback Marc-Alan Tucker(6-4 180), and junior running back Mustaafa
Rose(5-10 185) await their turn. On of the top basketball
prospects in the Show-Me State also lines up for the Cardinals at wide
out. Sophomore Ishmail Wainright(6-5 230) will contribute at
WR/DB.

The defense will return a pair of talented linebackers, senior
Jamaal Cox
(5-11 240) and junior Jameel Cox(5-11
235). Senior defensive back Marquise Cushon(5-11
175) returns along with Trey Myers(6-4 240) who started on the offensive
line last season.

Expect another battle with Ft. Osage for the league title before a
fourth consecutive trip to the playoffs for the Cardinals.
