Why in the hell would anyone want to have an agent for ncaa? That is just taking money away from the player and I know colleges hate paying the money to agents! NCAA should have banned agents from this NIL stuff. Pretty soon all these AAU people will become agents for these kids next to get their money.
Do you not get what an agent does or???

Oh I get it alright. 20% of 2 million is $400,000 that goes to the agent to say this kid will come here and play for you. That is not good business and money put of an athlete's pocket. Now, if they want to go to the NFL, so be it! Hire an agent. But to hire an agent to make a college NIL is the craziest thing I have ever heard.

yes, big difference in NFL agents and some of the college agents. Certification required in the NFL, not so much for these college kids... NFL agents take 3-4 percent. Some college agents reportedly taking 15-20 percent and in a few cases as much as 25 percent.

Be honest. Some of you all have very little concern whether he wants to play for a national championship, and more to do with being butt hurt over the fact he didn't sign with Mizzou.

Miami has just as good of a shot as anybody to make the playoffs(terrible ACC). There is so much turnover every year with athletes, its hard to read those bubble teams.

Google "UHealth." I will bet a shiny nickel that Miami is back to being decent within a few years.

Kid is a millionaire before he ever leaves college, goodness.

I am not hurt at all. The kiddo has the right to go where he feels the best fit is. All I am saying is, I know colleges hate paying agents in these cases is all and it is money out of a kids pocket.

I think you're missing the part where they likely end up with more money because the agent's job is to get the maximum amount for their athlete as possible. I bet he easily made half a million more just because he had an agent. If he was going to make less, he wouldn't have hired one. You have to use your Noggin a little bit there hangman! Be better!

Kid hasn't played a down of d1 football. Not many are gonna pay 7 figures for that when he can collect some monies and leave in year 2 or 3. Mizzou said production over potential and weren't going to pay like they did for nwaneri. They took themselves out of the race with both sides knowing he wasn't coming here. Drink is playing the portal game and has done well.

That extra half million just went to the agent, so did he really make more money? Besides, mom is in the banking business so I am pretty sure she knows how it works as well.

Yes, he absolutely did. You just said it yourself, she is in the banking business so your arguments don't even make sense. There's a big difference between understanding money (banking) and understanding the valuation of an athlete and negotiating that value with a coach or boosters. Use your Noggin and be better!

As a former booster club president but only at the high school I allegedly only have limited knowledge on negotiating the valuations of athletes and coaches. You cant "pay" high school athletes. And coaches "strict" contracts that set limits on their salary.

Where the REAL money is, I mean value, is in the facilities, merchandise, vendor contracts, and fundraising!

I am telling you now, deals can get done WITHOUT and agent involved in NIL. Parents and player holds all the cards! If they do not want to pay, they go somewhere else.

Nvm, I can see you are refusing to use your head. It's people like you who are the reason that players like the Tennessee QB that thought he was worth more than he was and ended up losing out on millions. If he had an agent, that wouldn't have happened. You're welcome for the education! Grow Up and Be Better!

LOL. He walked away from millions. Talk with your college coaches and I guarantee they hate having agents involved and see no need in it.

Depends on if you take the dabo route or the Drinkwitz route. The later embraces change and the NIL and Portal the former not quite so much. The reason....college and NFL coaches have agents as well. You dont walk into a kids living room already starting out a hypocrite. Well some do apparently. Look at ol Saban out there wanting the government to intervene,ol boy doesnt like change so he took it to defcon 5. Fkn selfish prick needs to accept retirement and stay out of the way. Its not 2015 anymore bud.
