To the original topic.. I’m shocked at how many people are in North’s corner over this one. Yeah JB beat up em them over the years but they weren’t doing it the way LN is now, which is bringing in vastly superior talent(by the truckload). Yeah, JB had Zeke and that was it as far as d 1 players goes on that team.
Carl Reed has brought in five 4-Star ranked recruits in the last four years if you count Ford(#1 in the state for the upcoming season) and a handful of other three star talents. The other teams in the metro can’t boast those numbers combined. It’s silly to pretend this is a pure role reversal and they(JB) are backing out.

JBS beat the piss out of everyone from 2010-2016 by 50. If you actually with a straight face believe that this is just happenstance and that Great High School players just so happened to enroll at little ol JBS randomly then check your messages, I have an opportunity for you to turn a $5 investment into 5,000.

This is 100% role reversal, Now Lutheran North is the Private Small School talent and JBS cant take the same beatings. You're caught up in Recruiting Stars and thats ok. The rest of us see 50-6 Ls as 50-6 Ls no matter the circumstances.

News flash, No private school From Class 6 to Class 2 is gonna be good year in and out without encouraging the top talents to enroll with them instead of CBC, instead of Rockhurst, instead of Trinity, instead of Bishop Miege.

I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone on here who feels sorry for JB. JB has just come up against someone who bluntly is recruiting better than they are. Again, nobody feels sorry for them; I think most are commenting on the sheer absurdity that this stuff has turned into.

Just like I said before, okay we can recognize they both recruit. And so do all these STL private schools and KC privates and so on and so forth, whatever.

2010-2017 JBS
I’ve got 4 kids from Burroughs listed by 24/7 as signing with D 1 schools across 8 years.
2017-2021 LN
Looks like 16 listed across 5 years.
2017-2021 CBC for Reference
16 listed across 5 years.

I’m not saying this is 100% accurate but it’s pretty close.

Any one that has a brain can look at those numbers and see the difference at what is going on between these two scenarios. I’m not saying anybody should feel sorry for Burroughs and I personally don’t. But given the level of these two teams there is no reason for them to play. The media/Twitter campaign that is being led against JBS by Carl Reed and his army of twitter whiners is absurd. They’ve been quick to call cowardice, have hinted that it’s a race ordeal, while they, and likely you will ignore the numbers that support the reasoning that there is no reason the two teams should play in their current states. Carl said himself that he has asked MSHSAA to move up classifications due to competitive balance and they’ve denied it, but on the other hand he wants the opportunity to run it up on former conference opponents when it’s clear no balance exists. Can’t have it both ways.

I don’t have any actual skin in the game, I just feel like Carl/LN has been allowed to use both media and social media to spin a narrative here that’s not totally grounded in facts so that’s why I shared.
