Bullit

Honestly not enough information, to give an honest opinion on what it would take to move her manufacturing here?

However I read this the other day from Steve Lamar, and because of where I live I know he is lying, I know three towns within 30 miles of me that have recently shut down several shoe factories and t-shirt factories. So the labor force is there, the buildings are there and the equipment is probably still there or in storage. The issue is they shut these factories down to move factories overseas, they don't want to open them back up or they don't want to try it is just easier to say it cannot be done and whine.

Steve Lamar, president of the American Apparel and Footwear Association, said the industry group expects to see a modest increase in U.S. manufacturing.
"We don't have the labor, skill set, materials, and infrastructure" to manufacture clothing and shoes on a large scale, Lamar said.

We just can’t trust Trump to do anything for the right reasons. He will claim he is and maga will just swallow it whole.

@Toots_mcgee, I don't disagree, but this is not just a Trump issue this is an overall issue with our political parties. Honestly nothing will be done to fix it either, those donors with the biggest purse strings win. As the old saying goes the rich get richer.

In the four years of the Biden administration, the collective wealth of the richest Americans grew significantly, while the least educated Americans experienced a decline in their share of national wealth. Specifically, the collective net worth of the 100 largest fortunes increased by $1.5 trillion, exceeding the collective net worth of the poorest half of Americans. The share of U.S. wealth owned by the top 0.1% reached its highest point since the 1980s, nearing 14%. The bottom 90% of Americans saw their share of total wealth decline. So please tell me again how the Dems were helping the middle class and poor under Biden?

Hey @Toots_mcgee just wanting your thoughts on this wealth gap?

I completely disagree with the first instagram. That lady gave every excuse to keep using cheap imported crap until she finally reveals the the real reason is making more money. Then, she completely discounts Americans' productivity and ingenuity. Businesspeople like her a huge factor in our present manufacturing decline.

The second instagram, the good senator could have just substituted Sleepy Joe's name in there and it would've been just as true.

@revno , the hard truth for many people who’ve worked in manufacturing and understand all too well is that outsourcing or offshoring is not about "staying competitive" all to often it masks what's really driving the decision: increasing profit margins. It's frustrating when the cost savings from cheaper labor and materials overseas don't translate into lower prices for consumers or better wages for workers—just higher executive bonuses and more shareholder returns.
What we to often see is the rising product prices despite lower production costs, and it is a textbook example of profit maximization in action. Once companies or individuals discover they can reduce costs while maintaining or even increasing prices (because of brand loyalty, market control, or lack of alternatives), they rarely pass the savings along. And the people on the ground—the machinists, line workers, inspectors—are the ones who see firsthand how the quality can suffer, how the work gets devalued, and how decisions made far away affect real lives. As companies move jobs overseas not because they cannot pay for labor or because we hear in the United states cannot manufacture a product, its because they can maximize profit and then scream we are doing it for the consumer....
