This thread has a lot of info from the guy’s book about how “anti-worker” the U.S. is compared to much of the world.

I agree with alot of what this writer has to say, but the sad part is most of our workers are not losing jobs to those industrialized nations, would you agree? We are losing jobs to nations who have no labor laws or even environmental laws.

My issue with raising minimum wage is your party says to forget bringing back industrialized jobs, those jobs have been lost forever, to low cost nations and robots. So $15 or more an hour jobs in factories are gone forever. Yet then your party turns around and says we need to raise minimum wage for retail workers so they can make a fair wage. Guess what Malls are closing, retail is dying, restaurants are going out of business. Raising wages for those types of business will only hasten the loss of those jobs. So what do we do about all of the millions of people that raising minimum wage puts out of work?

I will say I agree that to much money is concentrated in the top 1%, which means it never moves thru the economy. But I don't agree with exactly how we need to fix it. Just like I don't agree health insurance is the fixer to driving down health care cost! Knock on wood I have been relative healthy I don't go to the doctor but once a year and that is only for my yearly required checkup required by my insurance. So over the course of my 30 plus years I have worked I have lost a good bit of salary for insurance I have rarely if ever used, yes it is nice that I have it just in case. But so much of the middle class salary goes to insurance to cover medical bills that may or may not come and a lot of that goes to the CEO's of those insurance companies and their workers so think about all of those lost wages that could be in savings! I think you need catastrophic coverage for those life changing events, but why is our health care cost so expensive that we need insurance just to afford a visit to the doctor for such things as the common cold, flue, ear infections. Those should be cheaper and not require insurance, you should be able to visit a doctor and just pay our of pocket. even xrays should be affordable.

Any way I have attached some interesting reads for you, I do enjoy having a good conversations and actual constructive conversations about the things that affect our lives. Also I said your party to rib you, not so much to put the Dems down. I think the Dems have some good Ideas in some respect. Funny thing 3 years ago who would have said the republican party is the party of the working man, Funny how Trump has changed that. Yes the Union bosses still say hey we are Dems, but the workers don't feel that way.

I have always wondered and this is an honest question but I am sure some will go it will never happen. What would people do if the Dems were for gun freedom and limiting abortions and the Pubs were for gun control and no control on abortions, what people would change sides? In 2005 the left Liberals wanted border security and the Pubs were more open, but with Trump that changed and so did the Dems, meaning some labor moved to the right, another interesting read attached.
